Re: The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2 technical project details

Thanks for the heads-up on this - yes, it will be better for CEP2 to stick with the working release versions.

Berkeley (Not WCG): 6.12.33 Recommended version Download (7.23 MB) 14 Jun 2011

14th June was it's release for testing. Last weekend they still wanted several more inputs from testers. I see 6.12.26 is no longer listed as an older Recommended version! Not sure why it ever was either.

While 6.12.33 is better than 6.12.26, there are still issues with it. So for a Project as big as WCG (with so many participants and so many different projects) it's not quite there yet.

Re: The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2 technical project details

It's kind of irrelevant. The historic [all versions, ever compiled] download list shows them dated 13+14 June,

[ ] boinc_6.12.33_i686-pc-linux-gnu.sh 14-Jun-2011 08:27 2.0M
[ ] boinc_6.12.33_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu.sh 14-Jun-2011 08:12 2.0M
[ ] boinc_6.12.33_universal-apple-darwin.zip 13-Jun-2011 18:01 1.0M
[ ] boinc_6.12.33_macOSX_universal.zip 13-Jun-2011 18:01 6.4M
[ ] boinc_6.12.33_macOSX_SymbolTables.zip 13-Jun-2011 18:01 5.7M
[ ] boinc_6.12.33_windows_x86_64.exe 13-Jun-2011 10:25 8.0M
[ ] boinc_6.12.33_windows_intelx86.exe 13-Jun-2011 10:20 6.9M

but now they've actually moved for the ''public'' formal download page http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php?all_platforms=1... so brace yourself. As you like to trumpet new versions, this round you're in the lead to help all crunchers who jump head first [cats still land on feet then] into this release.

edit: Berkeley front page news, dated July 5:
BOINC 6.12.33 released to public
The next version of BOINC is now ready for public use. Check the release notes and version history for details. 5 Jul 2011 | 15:50:12 UTC · Comment

Re: The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2 technical project details

Hello erik.boinc,
CEP2 returns up to 16 results per work unit. Even if your computer returns fewer than 16, they are all useful. Please do not worry about this. The project scientists decide how to design the work units.

Re: The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2 technical project details

Thank you for the note. I am now working on a ruby badge for CEP2 as well as a gold one for DSFL. With recent increases in electricity prices, I have had to reduce my monthly contribution to WCG and other projects from 1,000,000 points to only 700,000.

Re: The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2 technical project details

Hi everybody,
We just got word that the Harvard RC vmware server (which amongst 100s of other services hosts the CEP server VM) conked out. Efforts are underway to fix this but we are currently out of business. Will keep you posted with updates!
We are sorry about the inconvenience and hope to be online again soon.
Your Harvard CEP team
