I run on Linux so I am glad to hear that some of the others will soon be able to run some of this.
I run more than one project and this one is swamping them out. Nice WUs except for the % thing. BIG uploads. Get ready for some FUN. |

@Skwiggs,
I'm not much of an expert on this but I've installed Xubuntu (which I would recommend if you're don't insist on having all kinds of software pre-installed) on HD as a dual-boot a couple of days ago and quite a few different distros on VMWare and never really ran into trouble. So if you open a new thread (some people don't like to see this Windows-thread soiled with Linux install instructions) and describe on what computer you are installing what distro and where things go wrong I'm pretty sure there will be Livangelists out here that are willing to help you out. Even though I'm not a specialist I'll help you out where I can. And there are quite a few large Linux forums where you can search for solutions or ask for help as well. Let me (us) know. Bart |

this project will get my complete focus when avail for PC. i already had 4 failed attempts trying to convert a PC to a Linux box for this. I knew or know very little about linux but I was able to install Dotsch/UX 1.2 and get it running the first try on a HDD. It comes with the BOINC client and firefox, albeit older versions, as part of the install. They've been crunching away for a few months now without problems. Some of the Linux pros on this forum helped me to figure out how to run it on bootable USB drives also. Give it a try. If I can do it anybody can. ![]()

Back to topic of this thread. It is now a half month after July 17. Is there any progress being made with the Windows version of CEP2?

I case you cannot find it
Yup Sorry and we forgot to provide an update. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE ![]() ![]() The new project is doing well but taking all our time and this being summer in the USA, there are vacations to consider which interfere. Here's the plan: Unless we find some major errors with the new project this week, there should be a beta starting next week, the week of August 2nd. Once the new project is in Beta and if Beta is relatively problem free, we'll get right back to finishing Windows and Mac for the Clean Energy project. Once we start, we expect the deployment to take less than 2 weeks. Thank you for your patience. ![]() |

please be patient everyone, there are still a lot of projects out there to crunch. Soon the problem will be there will be too many projects to choose from. I mean this week we will probably get a beta. Once this beta is done, we will get a new project. But at the same time we will probably get a new beta for CEP2 AND we will probably get type C WU for DDDT2. So potential in a few weeks, we will have to on which badge to focus on. New project, BETA, or DDDT2 for a little while. then new project, CEP2, or DDDT2.
----------------------------------------For me it will all depend on the memory requirements of the new project. CEP2 memory needs are high, so I can't go 100% towards it. ![]() |
