----------------------------------------Yep, we all have the same goal :) Emerald for UGM some days ago I see. Now I have put the dual-core (4 logical cores) onto MCM so that it gets some WUs crunched as well. ----------------------------------------Been kind of busy and a few things in the personal level have been...not so good. But tere are good news as well: UGM Sapphire badge! An upgraded htpc with a new CPU, going from a dual core i3-530 to an i7-870 (8 threads). Due to the massive increase in performance so comes a massive increase in heat and considering the small confinement of an hype chassis, I had to install two fans and so far only overcooked to 3.5GHz. Still, it fares much better than the old CPU - the throughput has increased tremendously. Be well everyone! ----------------------------------------I'm ordering an alienware with the 6 core I7-5820K Keeping this I7 2600K for just wcg and with a buddy using my i7 3770K for wcg that's 28 cores (with HT). ooh, got my wife a new laptop ordered, a few more cores there. Edit: 34 cores total, under 11 days per YEAR :D Edit: 34 or 38 if wife's laptop has HT... dont think so, but didnt get the alienware, bought some pieces and parts and used some old stuff i had. $400 cheaper, and 16 gigs of DDR4 2400 instead of 8 gigs of DDR4 2133 plus 250 gig SDD [Edit 2 times, last edit by Jack007 at Feb 8, 2015 4:49:52 PM] |
