Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

By that time I might be the longest time active cruncher on the planet, that is, if grid computing has not become very old news.

Am hoping cloud computing doesn't kill all the volunteer work we do to help the scientists. Looks like tablets, laptops and phone will be the computing platform of the future (in about 5 years or so). Now if they can get 10 cores/20 threads running cool in a laptop, I'm in. Don't think I will ever stop crunching until it's time to take a dirt nap.

cool Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

edit: With the last rain had 934 valid results and that was with 2.5 devices. This set was good for 120 CPU days.

Howdy, how You managed to have 2.5 devices ? wink

Probably means that one device was only working on DDD2 for 50% of the time??? I'm guessing???

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

I just noticed that all the WUs (valid, error, aborted, etc) that I had from this last rainfall got cleaned up from my results queue. Was this just late (normal ?) maintenance or could this be an indication that something is coming down the pike (wishful thinking biggrin ) ?

Thanks,

CJSL

I think it is just normal maintenance. I still have about 8 WUs from the last rainfall waiting to be processed.

OK, thanks. I seem to remember that somebody mentioned that their results queue got cleaned out just before the last rainfall. Then just wishful thinking it is sad .

Gotta keep crunching...

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

Has anyone heard anything about when the next batch might start, or have an estimate of when that should/might occur?

Thanks!

Would think WCG would move this project to intermittent. Would like to change my silver badge to blue by the end of the year (if I'm lucky).
