Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

SekeRob,

The global_prefs_override.xml was there, here is the cache settings:

<work_buf_min_days>0.100000</work_buf_min_days>
<work_buf_additional_days>0.250000</work_buf_additional_days>

I stopped the client and all tasks, deleted the file, restarted client, hit "Clear" in preferences, hit "Update" and the log did not show reading override file. That override file is also not now listed in the BOINC data dir.

1/22/2012 4:00:01 PM | World Community Grid | Host location: none
1/22/2012 4:00:01 PM | World Community Grid | General prefs: using your defaults

Thanks for all the info. Sorry for kinda getting off topic in the DDDT2 forum. If the crazy estimate situation continues I'll post in the appropriate BOINC Agent Support forum.

Cheers coffee <-- Would of preferred a beer icon. peace

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

Day 12 of the rain turned drip, validations through noon were totaling 234,252. About 70,000 MIA, a good portion of course in PV state already. Got 104 myself in that state as of this moment.

Hit them up, move them on cowboy

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

Is there an advanced warning for the rain, or the fun is to have it by surprise. At least with some advance we could plan to catch a little more. biggrin

Thanks for the detail, Seke. I was wondering where they went too. confused Did they hide them with the UD credits, I wonder?

As a point of clarification, the proper Texas expression is "Head 'em up! Move 'em out!" Sounds even better accompanied by the crack of a bullwhip. laughing biggrin laughing

Sometimes there's a little bit of warning in this thread (and always more accurate than other weather forecasts), e.g. this 12 Jan post by Seippel.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

Well, I finally made sapphire on DDDT2 with tonight's update so I've aborted the DDDT2 WUs I had left. Only qualifies as a "spit of rain" but they may help someone on towards their next badge. Actually, they're probably already gone by now. Still, it's about time for the resends to start hitting for this rain so, for those still working on DDDT2, keep trying.

Any idea how many tasks out of the 70,000 tasks are remaining in this run?
20,093 results were returned yesterday as of 1/24/12 00:06:03

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

Well...I only have about 192 left to go. Mostly on single core hyper thread systems or dual core HT netbook. The faster systems have already finished their chores. So far, only one production error and the other handful was due to that annoying wifi connection bug that Sekerob talks about in different posts.
