This may also be a contributing factor. Both these WUs are quorum 2 but the second copy was not sent until 9 1/2 days after the first and then went out with a 4 day due date. Strange?

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

I have no knowledge of special Homogeous CPU classes for DDDT2, but that could be the reason... no matching wingman.

I had over 300 wu this rain without a problem finding a wingman and then this one, also note all of these went out within 9 secs of each other

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

Are folks just selecting this project only to get wu's? I haven't had any in awhile. Currently have selected DSFL, DDDT2 and betas. Would think I would snag a few. Or is this project favoring a particular OS?

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

Bearcat...I typically select BETA, all intermittent, and CEP2 (with a max limit of 1) when they announce DDT2 rain in the forecast. This guarantees my systems wont be 100% dry but still asking for rain without backing off the scheduler very far. It seemed to work pretty good the last few times. However, in the past I just cached up about a day or two of other work and then just selected BETA and intermittent and that worked just fine too. When it isn't steady rain, it helps to keep pressing the update button (in conjunction with the above methods). That technique isn't really encouraged, but many here do anyways to get their fill.

I have just this task selected in the WCG project on 6 cores. I also have the Einstein project selected on them, but when I notice there's rain I set Einstein to 'No new tasks' on the Projects tab and let them crunch nothing but DDDT2 until it dries up. I have another 6 cores that are set to DDDT2 and GFAM, and yet another 6 cores set to DDDT2 and CEP2. Almost all of those share time with Einstein, Docking and Orbit, too. Oh, and with Beta. So they luck into a few when it's available, but there's sure not many DDDT2 WUs, in my experience. I don't think I've ever got a DDDT2 type A outside of Beta.

I'm only about 2 CPU weeks short of emerald in this task; 90 days for sapphire in CEP2; ~50 days for ruby in Beta; I haven't been at GFAM long, just getting silver last week I think.

edit1: corrected my math on CEP2 sapphire.

selecting this project only to get wu's?

I tried that and managed to get 10 work units. But that left my machine pretty idle most of the time, so I am not doing that now. For my main machine (the one big enough to run DDDT2 and CEP2, I have only DDDT3 and CEP2 (with a count of 1) running, but I turned all the other stuff (climate prediction, malaria, rosetta, setiathome) back on, most of which run at quite low priority. Back when DDDT1 was running, I got 265 work units without any fussing around. And with DDDT2, even with fussing around, I got only 14 so far over the life of the project. sad

Yep, when there are WU available. Got 181 days during this rainfall.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

yes it is very hard to get more than one or 2 without shifting only to this project.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

I tried setting to this project only and got about 10 work units that way. Then they stopped, so I turned all the other stuff on again. I still ask for DDDT2 work units, but I do not get any. I would think that considering how important it is to find a cure, there would be some way to supply sufficient work units to those who need them.
