Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

nanoprobe...I put yet a 3rd hard drive in it (only an 8GB from an old retired system). It seems to be running steady. Hopefully it continues solid.

If it was a clean install drive that could make a difference. Good luck!

FYI - there are still over 50,000 work units that are available to be sent out for this project and there has been a steady supply since the ts05's were released (although given the low number of slots in the feeder for this project you may not be able to get any at a particular moment).

Wow, 50,000 left out of 84,000 so well under half of this batch have gone out yet. A nice *long* gentle rain! :)

I have 24 machines and I am just starting to clean out all of my CEP2 WUs that I was working on while DDDT2 was "a sleep".

23 of the machines are now dedicated to DDDT2, and I have upped my cache to 5 days. Although I get a lot of "No work Available messages", since my only selection is DDDT2, I eventially get a lot of WUs.

Need to drive up my Total Run Time on DDDT2, It is my lowest contribution on all of the active projects.

I tried 2 clean installs on the second hard drive and they continued to fail. Each time I chose a different version of Windows. So, the third hard drive was the next logical step. If this test successfully fixes the problem, then I'm good. Otherwise, this system will stop WCG and stick to yoyo.

I just saw a 15 MB download! I don't know any of the WUs were that big! I thought that was CEP2!

Dengue II has several "work types". One of them is monster size, also in terms of runtime.
While (I believe) files size isn't quite "CEP2 style", run time can very well be.
Just keep crunching, you'll be fine!

I have found that it takes at least 3 calendar days to fill the cache, so as long as you do not leave it to the last minute you will get your fill.

Seippel - Has there been any more consideration for putting these announcements about the status of work into a sticky / read-only thread (just for intermittent projects)? As these threads on "rain" get longer it gets harder to dig out the important info, and also it would be nice to be able to put "watch" onto a thread that only had relevant info. Thanks!

Please review the thread for work unit types as it explains the file sizes. The good thing about the 15MB download is just that. It's a download, as most internet connections have a faster download speed than upload. About 2/3 of the work units for DDDT2 are associated with this 15MB download. The other 1/3 are less than 1 MB.
