Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Laszlo is back and has resumed his work on the GUI for user entries of experimental data to CEPDB. He is also further extending our own data compilation from the literature, and writes a module for pretty graph outputs. Good to have you back, Laszlo!

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Martin is intensively working with Kitware and ChemAxon to sort out some funny business concerning SMILES standards and canonical forms as well as similarity searches using molecular fingerprints.

The Aspuru-Guzik Group has a new Postdoc – Changwon Suh – who is an expert in materials informatics. He has a separate project but we hope he’ll contribute to CEP over time as well.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Last stretch for writing our grant proposal with the deadline rapidly approaching... In case you are interested, we are applying for money from the NSF DMREF program. DMREF is for “Designing Materials to Revolutionize and Engineer our Future”.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Dear CEP crunchers,
It looks like Blizzard Nemo will dump 1-3 feet of snow and 65 mph winds on us starting at noon today - how exciting. So, in case we vanish from the map sometimes in the next 48 hours you’ll know why. But don’t fear for us, we are well prepared with extra laptop batteries, stacks of journal articles to read, and an assortment of Ramen noodles in all flavors. That’s what you call science geek survival skills biggrin .
Godspeed,
Your Harvard CEP team
