My additional work buffer was set to 10 days to load up on tasks.
----------------------------------------It looks like some tasks are not going to meet the deadline. For that reason I am going back to my original setting of 0.05 days. I picked that number because it always downloaded an additional task. My Internet connection is fiber and it has been dependable so no need to load additional tasks. sunfolk, when you talk about 8 core hyper-threaded are you referring to dual processor server motherboards? I have not seen an 8 core processor. The IBM z196 has a 96 core 5.2 GHZ selling for 6 figures, for which I am a few dollars shy. grumpygrampy emailed me that he was having a problem getting HFCC tasks.

The problem with the servers is resolved. It was not WCGrid servers it was Chiba servers.

I think we might be able to overtake Brazil for #4 in HFCC at the rate we are going.

I updated to the new BOINC version and installed the 64 bit thinking it would remove the old 32 bit version. Wrong!

Never did receive an answer on BOINC but I did find a user manual that stated that your stuff is not lost when you uninstall.
----------------------------------------So I uninstalled, ran CCleaner and Eusing fixing all, and rebooted. No BOINC Mgr, this is good. Downloaded the 64 bit version, WinPatrol shows only one boincmgr and boinctray running. Rebooted and only the 64 bit version is running. I blame myself for this issue not the software. I am concerned that the BOINC Manager is not getting tasks in before the deadline.

In fact - and had you not mentioned this, I wouldn't have known -
I had two 13 hour ones sitting with an October 21 deadline that I subsequently chose to abort in favour of October 22 and 23 ones that should be done on time. Thank you for mentioning this, rcc I'm gullible. I trust the BOINC Manager to manage for me  |
