Re: "The survivors"

little mermaid,
You are showing as the 11th member, are you back temporarily?
You signature shows you elsewhere.
You never know where/when the base campers will show up next.
Congratulations on your new mosquito badge, I think they award them to people that rig their mosquito nets properly.

Too bad about your favorite coffee.
There are lots of other good coffees on the market.
Stop shopping in that low class discount store you frequent.
Try some other blends.
If you have trouble adjusting try the french roast cure.
Drink black french roast for a couple of days and anything else will taste good.
Guaranteed!

Re: "The survivors"

rcc, I did indeed sign up for your hi tech crash course
- thank you for reminding me of the misleading signature.
It was a spur of the moment action and I forgot the sig detailing.
I have corrected. Would you please proof read the construction?

As to the coffee: Upscale shops don't necessarily have better products
- but always more expensive ones in my experience.
Lidl could easily compete with the finest of gourmet delicacy shops
had they kept my favourite coffee.
However, unless they do some serious tightening of a certain part of
their anatomy, I shall take your French Roast cure .... and move on ...

Re: "The survivors"

While wandering the coffee aisle of the local market, i found a display of "Gevalia" which hadn't been there before. So i bought a pack (Traditional Blend, $7.99 for 12 ounces)

So this morning i had some. following this detailed methodology:
Make a pot
Drink it

Results - mild flavor, (it that a touch of chicory?), seems ok

Rating: 7 (-13.9 Celcius)

I'll probably stick with Dunkin' Donuts.

Re: "The survivors"

smile - oh and Dunkin' Donuts do the brewing for you, don't they?
Or can you buy the beans also?
Thanks for the review - for some reason Gevalia never really caught on to me
- or is it the other way around?
EDIT: Pushed the wrong button - too early
- or it would have been the right button
- see, I'm catching on to your methodology relatively fast, I think tongue

Re: "The survivors"

little mermaid,
Your signature is fine with one exception.

World English Dictionary
nerd or nurd (nɜːd)
1. a boring or unpopular person, esp one obsessed with something specified: a computer nerd
2. a stupid and feeble person

Main Entry: nerdish
Part of Speech: adj
Definition: somewhat like or typical of a nerd; also called nerdy, nerdlike

a geek is any smart person with an obsessive interest,
a nerd is the same but also lacks social grace,
and a dweeb is a mega-nerd

Some of us have technical backgrounds and therefore engage in techie/tekky talk.
Personally, I am possessed but none of us are obsessed.

Re: "The survivors"

While reading some recent threads I found one that was discussing problems with CEP2 running exclusively on multi threaded machines.
There was mention of wear on the SSD, which exists on one of my machines.
Also mentioned errors that are due to the large size of the memory required to run.
All of this was due to loading all threads with CEP2.
So I made the decision to spread out the load a bit by running multiple projects.
My spreadsheet for projecting badges is now going to be difficult.
Projections were quite easy when running a single project as the estimated run time per day is consistent for one project.
Oh well, nobody said life would be easy.

On the bright side, my signature globe will go from Ruby to Emerald next week, that won't change.

Re: "The survivors"

nasher,
How are you doing on your HCMD badge? There's not much time left, although the dashboard has not been updated in a while, so it's not clear how much time might actually be left.

Re: "The survivors"

The dashboard is now 4 days out of date.
Don't remember this happening before.

On the HCMD thread nasher said he thought he would get his badge.

If you look at the team results you can see when dl1000v joined.
The team's results doubled.
dl1000v, what have you got under the hood?
