Re: Little Mermaid's "inflicting" thread

Thanks to the 'Inflatables' for the above.
Hello Rory42 rose nice meeting you
Would you mind repeating that in a cut-out-in-cardboard or bent-in-neon way for me, please?
Inflatables - tyres, swim animals ....
Oh, you wouldn't hint at some expanding waist line, would you d oh

Hello Little Mermaid, "Thanks to the 'Inflictables ' for the above." was my intent but spell checker had other ideas.

Re: Little Mermaid's "inflicting" thread

yoro42 thank you for returning after your name change to solve this mystery for me.
In fact, I have thought long and hard about it. Diving deeper into "inflatables"
hinted at a possibility of it to mean something advertising-like.

Now it turns out to be a perkele spell checker.
They are NOT to be trusted.
You have to be extremely good at the language in order to use them ...
It sounds ridiculous, I admit, but nevertheless they are ticking bombs ...

So are the web based translators such as Google Translate.
If you run your piece back and forth between English and Portuguese a number of times,
you'll be really surprised at the outcome ...
My new sister in Bellingham, WA, meant to be good to me and wrote in Danish
- Google Translate helped her.
She meant to say "I checked on the neighbors" - it came out in Danish as "I controlled the neighbors".
Well, I feel somewhat comfortable with both languages and found it very funny
- because I languages and words in case you haven't noticed
- but what if you rely on these contraptions for doing business?
And I also wonder what I *really* write when I occasionally visit Team Brasil/Brazil ...

Nice meeting hyou Rory42/yoro43 - what do your names stand for?
I cannot help it.
Well, I could, but I won't, and I hope your sense of humour can stomach a major infliction:
Good thing you saw SNURK and not a sex change doctor ...

Little Mermaid, yoro is an 'anonymous' variation of Rory which is my name and 42 is the answer to the meaning of life and everything. Together they provide uniqueness for creating a user id. Yes, for me seeing SNURK is preferable to the alternative suggested. Finally, carelessness, not trust contributed to the spelling error. Nice talking to you.

Thank you for your answer.
What I said about spell checkers was not
anything personal, just my experienced opinion.
I must admit it has me more mystified than enlightened.
Would it have anything to do with numerology?
As to your fine new signature, you should return to SNURK's thread and scroll one post up
- there Jean Pierre has given you a couple of tips for making it look like a SNURK sign.

Thank you also for having a stomach that can stand up beautifully to the last line of my post
- and returning it in kind.

Re: Little Mermaid's "inflicting" thread

marvey11 wrote in SNURK's thread and I brought it here to comment a bit
but not wanting to go too much off topic there -
I feel I have inflicted sufficient psychobabble as it is.
Here we don't really have a topic we can go off
Well, little mermaid... if somebody really wants to, he or she can find out quite easily which team you're currently in...
For example, here: http://boincstats.com/stats/user_graph.php?pr=wcg&id=743542 biggrin

EDIT: Sorry, for going off-topic, but I just saw that little mermaid has also contributed work to my team in the past. Tak så meget for det!
(Unfortunately I haven't seen this earlier, so you must think me ungrateful.)
marvey11, I don't find you ungrateful at all.
Alles ist gut, und eigentlich hab ich nicht sehr viel gearbeitet.
Usually there is a reason for me to build a nest with someone. I visited your team
because you crunched all alone,
because we "talked" well in my "Where are you from?" thread and
because your team's name appealed to my imagination "To the moon and back"
- yes, please, I would like that, and taking the trip with a German with a sense of humour
would be pleasant, indeed. The stereotype German in Danish minds has little if any humour
- so meeting you broke that stereotype for which I'm glad.
Since then I have had the good luck to meet a few more like you
and can change my mind accordingly.
- and, yes, we CAN track each other if we really want to

Re: Where did the aircraft carrier go????

Ref your latest post in Hexagame - There's nothing idiotic about wanting a return to the ideal of a Common Market. That is, afterall, how it was sold to us Brits back in 1975. No mention then of the inexorable creep towards political integration.

Re: Where did the aircraft carrier go????

Ohhhh, neither do I think so.
It would be returning to common sense as well.
I voted for the Common Market .
The EU they forced upon me, I feel, under false pretensions
- even as we had a referendum
- well, we actually had two, because the Danish people was wrong the first time around.
Nor the ijits are the ones that don't know to stop while the going is good.

If you are referring to 42 being the answer to life the universe and everything. This is hugely famous in the UK. It comes from a series of semi comedic Sci-Fi books written by Douglas Adams called The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. These were made into a radio series by the BBC, then a TV series by the BBC, (both very good), then a Hollywood movie (very mediocre - and that's being kind). This clip from the BBC TV show will explain the 42 reference.
