Re: Error reported by file upload server: No space left on server

Scribe, thanks for the quick feedback.

What is happening on MCM1 is that since i dropped it's weight in the feeder we are only loading in like 5 work units at a time instead of 10. So if someone comes in and claims the 5, then the next five are scheduled for the same machine type, which is fine as the feeder gets re populated every few seconds. For mcm1 there will be times when it goes into this state because i dropped the weight and the popularity of the project. When I can I will increase it's weight in the feeder, but the results for MCM1 are what caused the file system to fill up. So a balance will need to be set going forward, which I'm working on now.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Re: Error reported by file upload server: No space left on server

Bear in mind there is also a download limit based on number of results uploading. I think it's two uploads per core and it stops downloading. Never experienced it myself, but I have seen plenty of reports of this behavior.

I'm going to allow the flood gates to open for a bit. To see if some of my changes will help.

Thanks,

Re: Error reported by file upload server: No space left on server

I'm going to leave uploads on for probably another 15-30 minutes so I can capture some benchmarks. Then uploads will be stopped again.

Thank you again for your patience,

Re: Error reported by file upload server: No space left on server

As per Uplinger's post and as can be seen in the BOINC log, uploads are disabled. Looks like WCG is having a real crunch on disk space. Seems they're getting hit with MCM1 uploads that are large. The impact of MCM1's variability goes both ways. It has been a long time since his post though so hopefully, we'll hear something soon as he's probably had his nose to the grindstone trying to deal with this.
