Re: Run dry already?

It could be that they don't yet have it automated to the point where it can provide a continuous stream, and it has to be manually initiated. We saw this during the beta and perhaps it is still continuing to some extent. The stream started this morning at 5:11 am Austin time, so perhaps that's shortly after one of the techs awoke and gave the work generator a nudge.

Re: Run dry already?

I haven't seen a work unit for about a week now.

Re: Run dry already?

sjnewbold,
Welcome to the forums.
Unfortunately this project releases new workunits in spurts and not continuously. That may make it difficult for some crunchers to get workunits. One thing that might help is to add another project to your Device Profile such as OET1, and set your cache to no more than 0.5 days. This will at least keep your cruncher busy and asking for new work on a regular basis.

Re: Run dry already?

sjnewbold, as deltavee suggested, only have this, and another project selected - as well as the box "If there is no work available for the project(s) I have selected above, please send me work from another project" UNCHECKED.

I don't know if you're able (or willing) to run CEP2 WU's (they're heavy, long and run for very long periods without a checkpoint - so it's only really for those machines which are on 24/7), although one major benefit, is you can determine as to how many WU's of that type can be downloaded onto your machine at anyone time. Therefore, if you've got a machine with (say) 2 cores, you could set it to download a maximum of 3 CEP2 WU's and have the buffer set at 1 day. Then, your machine will constantly be asking specifically for FAHB WU's whilst keeping your cores busy if/when no FAHB WU's are available. As I say though, CEP2 does need careful thought before running that particular project.

Re: Run dry already?

I have a work buffer of 1 day and have no problem obtaining a constant supply of FAAH2.

Did you have If there is no work available for the project(s) I have selected above, please send me work from another project selected in your device profile? If so unselect it. If you have a 0.5 - 1 day buffer set you should have no problem keeping your cores busy.

Cheers coffee

Re: Run dry already?

On 15 Ivy Bridge cores (0.5 + 0.5 day buffer), I have only three, running FAH2 plus CEP2 and MCM. So they are a bit rare, but still there. (I have enabled "If there is no work available for the project(s) I have selected above, please send me work from another project", if that makes a difference.)

You may want to check your side. No interruptions in work for me and I have received new ones minutes ago. Good luck.
