Re: Run dry already?

The way I've gotten around this issue, is, with a 4 core machine, have a CEP2 + FAHB mix, with a max of 5 CEP tasks and a buffer that'll ensure that it keeps trying to pull FAHB WU's even when there's a full complement of CEP2 WU's.

Re: Run dry already?

But yet.... This is an hour and a half after your "cleared it" message.
Not exactly. Look at timestamps : it was one day and one hour and a half. smile
I've been wondering about this. I have a 3 day cache set and only this project selected, but only have 3 extra WUs downloaded (only one extra set, with 3 cores on the laptop running).
I am wondering too : I have a cache at 0.33+0.1 and, up to now, new WUs have always been ready in queue much before the current ones complete.
Could it be that your cache setting (3days+??) is too close to the deadline value (4 days)?

I have FAAH2 + CEP (1 core max) selected in my device profile, but I do not have send other project work selected. I have a 1 day cache and have not run dry since the project started, even during the dry spell that prompted this thread. I have gotten several FAAH2 jobs today.

Cheers coffee

Re: Run dry already?

Ah yes, my mistake! Nonetheless, the issue continues. I get 1 WU here and 1 WU there over a long period of time. If I am lucky, I will have 3 before my previous 3 are done crunching. Currently I have 3 crunching and only 1 on deck. I reduced my cache from 3 days to 1 yesterday, and the behavior has not changed.
There definitely seems to be some issue. I would point out that the people having no trouble getting them seem to be running about a million cores and getting hundreds of WUs at a time. Is it prioritized to give everything that's available to them, every time?

Re: Run dry already?

sevenveils, I currently have 1 machine (4 cores) set for FAHB, and generally, I get a trickle coming in throughout the day. Not enough to keep all 4 cores concentrated on FAHB, so I've got CEP2 added into the mix, with a maximum of 5 WU's selected (enough to keep all 4 cores busy and 1 spare) along with a 1 day buffer and the "If there is no work available for the project(s)..." box unchecked.

This then allows constant attempts at filling up my machines buffer with FAHB WU's - and hence, I haven't seen a point yet, when I don't have at least 1 FAHB WU being worked on.

Re: Run dry already?

Yes, the problem is still occurring, over the weekend I have manually fixed it, on Monday I will be looking into how to permanently fix it. Sorry for the issues, and thank you for your patience.

A zero weight project just took occupation of 2 idle cores. Their gain, WCG's loss.
