We just completed our monthly call with the researchers.
1. Most of their work has moved to their homes as their on-campus labs have been closed until at least early May. As long as their servers stay up, they will continue to create, send, and receive work units. 2. Our current backlog of work is roughly 16 days as of today. 3. The researchers are proposing to make some minor code changes to the work units that will help them answer specific research questions. These changes will not invalidate any past work units or current work units. We'll have more information about this by the next monthly update. 4. The conferences they had planned to attend this spring and summer are mostly pushed out for six months or longer, as planners keep an eye on the safety of large gatherings and travel. We just completed our monthly call with the researchers.
----------------------------------------1. Work units seem to be running smoothly overall, including most of the Android units. 2. They're continuing to consolidate the data from ovarian cancer work units. 3. They've started looking at 33 studies of lung cancer markers to see how data from those studies compare to the data they got from work on World Community Grid. This analysis is still in the very early stage. 4. Regarding the proposed minor code change mentioned in last month's report, the WCG tech team is going to take a look at the code soon (after OpenPandemics launches). 5. Not directly related to Mapping Cancer Markers--the research team is using some of their tools to help an international consortium of institutions that is working on analysis of SARS-CoVD2. We just wrapped up our monthly call with the researchers.
1. Following up on minor code change mentioned past couple of monthly reports, the WCG tech team will make an announcement once these changes are ready for beta testing by volunteers. (No exact ETA, but we expect that this will be soon if alpha testing goes well.) 2. Not directly related to Mapping Cancer Markers--following up on their work with an international consortium of institutions that is working on analysis of SARS-CoVD2, they've applied for a grant to do work on protein interactions within the virus. No ETA on when they'll hear back. 3. No major updates on the ongoing analyses of lung cancer and ovarian cancer data.
