Re: Work Available

As requested, see giba post and uplinger replies, the dispensing is/was put on a 'randomic' distribution cycle.

edit: see uplinger reply https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg...ad,41909_offset,20#617132

Thanks, good to know & probably why I'm running out, I set them up a little staggered now & maybe can pick up a few that way ...

Re: Work Available

Didn't manage to get a single task, yet.
Set my preferences accordingly, but still:

Well, I guess I'll just have to wait...

Confused. Uplinger said:
I have a solution to randomizing the distribution of results in testing at the moment on our test environment. I'll let you know when it is pushed to production.
and I haven't seen him say it's gone into production yet. And I'm still getting all the tasks I want and I haven't made any more changes.

If I missed the announcement, please let me know.

Thankfully, it's now a lot easier to catch WU's of a rare nature via the (relatively) new settings WCG have provided - where we can set the number of WU's/project. My settings are; 24 MIP's (to keep my machine busy), 3 ARP1 and unlimited for any Zika WU's that may stll be floating around. With those set, and a decent Work Request buffer (5-6 days), my faster machine has been quite successful in catching a few ARP1 droplets. I'm not too fussed over my slower machine catching any - as, there's a higher chance that I won't get them returned in time.

Funny I stopped into popeye for first time in 9 months. Very tasty, the pickles are the cool touch.

Re: Work Available

Well, the number of WU's being returned (and hence, logically, being sent out), is slowly increasing - the 13th and 14th, both had over 2,000 WU's returned - and today looks as though it'll also be on track to get over that bar.
ARP1 Results Returned

I personally, didn't have to wait long before my 'spare' ARP1 slot got filled up again after I had earlier returned one. As soon as the 2 ARP1 WU's which are currently crunching have completed (they're both ~60% done, with approx 14 hrs to go), I'll kick off this next.

11/15 so far: Windows device is dry now but Linux devices are getting a steady flow. Weird.
