1. COVID 19 is not a virus!

It seems the US CDC does not agree with you.
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a virus (more specifically, a coronavirus) identified as the cause of an outbreak of respiratory illness first detected in Wuhan, China.

SARS-CoV-2 is the virus that causes Coronavirus Disease 2019. It seems, however, that many organizations simply refer to COVID-19 in their public directed guidelines in order to avoid confusion.

The WHO officially gave both the virus and the disease their names:

Managed to get a few on a couple of different machines. They were gone in the blink of an eye, less than 2 minutes. A couple were valid though. Hard to stop and restart when they are gone so quick.
Cheers

Exactly. A disease name (COVID-19) and a virus name (SARS-CoV-2, which replaced the provisional "2019-nCoV" name).

Re: OpenPandemics - COVID 19 Beta Test April 20, 2020 [ Issues Thread ]

Good morning,

A few things about the beta. All the work units sent out currently are NOT sized. The work units length is highly dependent on a few parameters. I am planning to use the results from this beta to get a good idea of the curve needed to properly build them in the future. We have a test batch for sized work units in alpha at the moment that we are testing.

For Android and others on batch TEST029. Some invalids will happen between operating systems. That test allowed Android work to be matched up with Linux, Mac and Windows. After the initial beta test and validation, this was shown not to be a good idea. So I have limited it the same app version has to be sent out for wingmen. Also, there was an issue with check pointing in version 7.08 which ran mostly against TEST029 that would fail validation as well. All the new batches should go out againts version 7.09 with the check pointing fix.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Got two on the Ryzen 1400 (Ubuntu 20.04). One ran for a minute, the other one seems longer and is advancing in 0.001% increments so far. EDIT: And it jumped to 2% after 5 CPU minutes and is back to 0.001% increments. RAM usage is 104 MB, which is absolutely fine.

I had some assorted ones last evening from a minute or two to several hours. The longest one was over 7 hours, and unfortunately it picked a computer that is only running at 60% of cycles. It ran overnight. I saw it in the system this morning and it finished soon after. I have that computer and a laptop running 50% in their own BOINC area. I could knock that one out if it becomes a problem. The betas are running at high priority and preempting other projects, but that is OK. I can run some 24 hour things like Africa Rainfall Project or Help Stop TB and the betas get time when they wish. I currently am not running any Fight Aids @ Home Phase 2 which ALSO preempts other projects, so I don't know what the mix is like with that combination. If FA@H2 doesn't get to use all threads everything would probably get a chance to run.
