The header for this thread in the SCC forum doesn't show the date on which the thread was started. It just shows the date of the last post, which before I post this was 5 May 2020.
The last post could be a recent post to an old thread, eg to the thread that announced a previous long pause in SCC, in which case I would ignore it if I was busy. But it is a recent thread, and it has relevant info. There's no quick way to tell. Workaround: Put the aprroximate date in the thread title, eg ", estimated Mid-May 2020"? Fix: Put the start date on all forum threads? |

thnaks for the update. I guess that the quick speed in this case was due the possibility to run SCC in ARM/Android devices which multiple by millions devices capable to work for.... but it is my guess ! I'd say it's possible - I've noticed that SCC WUs on my android devices run 2-3 times faster than their MCM counterparts. Sometimes, 4-5 times faster. Meanwhile on a mid-range win10 laptop - there's usually only an hour or two between their runtimes. ![]() |

SCC is not running faster than MCM.
----------------------------------------SCC has just smaller WUs. The average computation time difference between SCC and MCM is about factor 3. Cheers, Yves ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by KerSamson at May 6, 2020 2:05:51 PM] |

I think the well has run dry, I haven't had a SCC WU sent to me since 7am today (CST) and during that time i have returned 13 WUs.
----------------------------------------[EDIT #1]: Ha, just got 1 WU... so not so dry, but rather drying up ![]() [EDIT #2]: I give up... I knew this would happen... the moment that I posted that "the well has run dry", I start getting WUs ![]() ![]() CJSL Crunching for a better world... ---------------------------------------- [Edit 2 times, last edit by cjslman at May 7, 2020 2:13:50 AM] |

The supply is indeed running dry. I have been waiting for 1.5 h for a single work unit and still haven't received it.

The supply is sporadic and rapidly dwindling.
----------------------------------------I expect we will soon be down to the occasional re-send.

They did say early this week - the supply lasted longer than they originally estimated - that's something ig, lol It'll be interesting to see how the dwindling supply affects other WCG projects. ![]() |
