WCG is greyed out when you look at the boinc-user page from other User. There is no link to WCG, but to all other projects.
This is ok.

Go to BOINCStats, click on Status Scheduler and scroll down:

World Community Grid
Online, No data

The server is pinged by this site to check if it's alive.
