Not sure if this is changed, but 10 posts per page in forums is a bit low :-( E: that was a quick fix My 15 post preference from before remained the same. See Vester's reply on how to change the number of posts. AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

I came to the website to make a quick post. I found I had been logged out - cookie expiry, probably. Not a problem.
But after logging in, I had to navigate my way back into the forums, and find the thread I'd just been looking at. Please, 'return to previous page from login' is normal in these cases. |

It is not very clear to me where to find the link to the forums on the new website. This is a big problem for example for new users. The most obvious place to look for the link is in the left panel on the website, under "Community" tab but there is no forum link there.
I have to scroll to the bottom of this page to find it: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ which I think is a strange design choice. I propose to add a "Forum" link in the left side panel of the website. Under "Community" --> "Forum". Thanks |

It is not very clear to me where to find the link to the forums on the new website. Agreed. You are not the first person to complain about this and yes bad design choice. But after logging in, I had to navigate my way back into the forums, and find the thread I'd just been looking at. Two options:1-Your browser history 2-After you have noticed that you must be logged in to make a post, just click the signin icon on top right but then login on a new tab (right click->open in new tab or scroll wheel click). Now on the original tab click refresh. I just did that to post this reply. If you are on a telephone then I guess you are SOL |

The new website was created by an IBM design team. Too bad they weren't WCG users. ![]() Exactly. Who ever was involved in all those changes did just follow what their UX course handbook told them, but never actually used the site. And it doesn't matter if they are IBM or Krembil folks... There are some good ideas, like IMHO the "Activity over time" graph but in return, the "Activity" and "Current streak" are absolutely useless. So is the redesign on the icons, the new color scheme is simply atrocious. Yes, SOMEHOW, you can get all the info that you could get from the old site, but it take FAR more time than it used to. And I for one, simply don't have the time to babysit and try to find where a certain piece of info is hidden. And if you look at my overall stats, you will notice that I am with WCG for a long time, and have contributed to it A LOT. Ralf ![]() ![]() |

The new website was not designed or deployed by the Krembil Research Institute. It was designed, created, and deployed under IBM. For the actual effects, immaterial...The new data features that were added were some common requests from volunteers over the years. The IBM and WCG teams put a great deal of time and effort into those, and had high hopes that volunteers would like them. We are monitoring feedback via support, email, website stats, and social media (as well as the forum) to get a full picture over time on how these are received. Strange selection of previous feedback then. And it should be quite obvious by now that the general direction of the changes is not well liked by most volunteers. And so far, the feedback on the executed changes seems to have been completely ignored by the design team... "Friss, Vogel, oder stirb" "The streak is based on the time you return a result successfully (which is somewhat under your control) and not based the time that your result was validated (which is not very much under your control). We do not store this level of information in the database so we were not able to reconstruct streaks backwards in time. As a result, the streaks start counting from today." That should have been quite obvious, but then this metric is rather useless for all by the (very) occasional participant. For everyone else, this will just be a counter of days since these dreadful changes have been made...To your point about certain groups of crunchers being responsible people: there are many individuals who can maturely and effectively convey their disappointment, and a few others who have shown behavior in the forum that is quite the opposite. Any posts that contain multiple violations of our Communication Guidelines--which are based on a minimum level of common courtesy--fall into the latter category. The rather strong response that you (WCG) received should be a strong indication of how badly the changes are being received. Can't judge those responses myself, as they have been redacted, but my initial (internal/personal) response to the changes was certainly everything but flattering to whoever made those decisions to abuse their powers to change the web site.I don't think that anyone of the "regulars" are directing any personal critique or even insults at you or the other WCG volunteers like Kevin, who over the years have done a lot to keep the project alive. But you should also acknowledge, in a meaningful way, the concerns that have been voiced over the recent "changes for the changes sake", instead of just following "company policy" and more or less blindly defend the general direction those changes have been made.... Thks TCBF yr posts.you express and arguments strongly what many feel.
----------------------------------------i just wonder how yr posts passed through "moderation" i.e censorship as two threads on discussion about transition to Krembil seem frozen since beginning of october . Some posts have made there never show up.I assume i was polite but not hindering my critics about the new logo, the badges, whiteness of pages,no direct link to forums under "Community " I hope this one will pass through the wall.... Congratulations for your great contribution Regards Regards Well i hope this one ![]() |
