Re: Issues with new website

I have offered my share of criticism on the new web site, but I did find at least one thing which I do like. On the results page there is a a small download arrow (not labeled) which downloads into a spreadsheet cvs file which contains all of the work units I have processed and are in progress for past few days. I had been able to get this information before but had to have a written script to do it. I like the one button push to get the information. With this information I can keep track of all my machines work and do some data analysis on the efficiency of the machines to better allocate which projects work best on which machines and with which OS. Still don't care for all the white and blue, but I do like the data downloads.
Cheers

Re: Issues with new website

Yes, I like the download arrows also. I only use the arrow on the "heat map" thing of the overview page and the ones for each device. Only have 4.

It use to be a copy and paste before so that is good but, like you, it's about to only thing good I can say about the new site. The rest is kinda useless except the forums.

Now if the graph of "My activity over time" had a selection for the total of all projects it might make me login every day to see it. I keep my own stats but only update about every 2 weeks. Was more fun to see it every day.

Re: Issues with new website

After a month or so I finally found the link to the forums on the website (thanks to this thread). It's very well hidden, and I guess one of the reasons, why the forum has quieted down a bit.

Re: Issues with new website

Does anyone else see sporadic cases where the Contributions page does not display anything?

Here's what I sometimes see: a completely empty page with the following error in the browser console. I have tried this with multiple browsers (Edge, Chrome) and in a new session/ incognito mode. The error disappears overnight in most cases.

Yeah, certainly one of the most [REDACTED FOR INSULT] moves from the web site creators of not putting it in the "Community" menu on top, where any logical thinking user would look for it. Even before those atrocious badge colors...

Re: Issues with new website

Have to agree.

It was one of the most [REDACTED FOR INSULT] thing of the new site.

Don't know what it was was but I redacted myself.

So how come no one can see this? Should be an easy mod to make. Like maybe 1 minute of work. Am starting to wonder if it is not being done out of spite.

Re: Issues with new website

The forum link has been suggested numerous times, and ignored. I have a small hope that they just don't want complainers during the transition period, and that they will put the forum link under community once the transition is done, but I'm probably being overly optimistic.

I don't think they want a forum community. I think they don't understand the value of a thriving forum community to draw people in to be a part of a project, and to keep people. I'm waiting until the full transition is done, but if they decide to not support the forum properly, then I will move on to a better supported community.

I'm still on Setiathome's forums after all this time, and the project ended a while ago.

Re: Issues with new website

Other that coming to the forums and checking my signature widget ; how do I see how I'm doing compared to other crunchers? That information was on top of the front page of the previous web pages ( for example run time: (11:22:33:44) #xxx of #yyyyy . Now I cannot find that info anywhere.
