Re: 2022-08-26 Update (increased WU output & WCG backend changes)

Looks good today. Every completed task is instantly replaced by a fresh download, no manual intervention needed so far..

Indeed. No backoff and retries at all today. Upload and download are going smoothly now.

Looking good now, except that OPNG has dried up (then again, with the sheer number of files in an OPNG work unit, that might have been what was clogging us up).

Ah! Then things are getting better. I seem to notice more WUs lately. So I am not imagining this.

This is good.... and bad for the other projects I signed up for during this maintenance period.

Re: 2022-08-26 Update (increased WU output & WCG backend changes)

Just had some GPU work come in. Still looking good. I guess we're back to limited GPU work units as they were before the shutdown. But still, no stuck downloads! So far, it's been as smooth as butter today.

Re: 2022-08-26 Update (increased WU output & WCG backend changes)

For at least the last 24 hours, I've had continuous work, with 12 hours queued and no problems downloading. I don't have a powerful enough GPU for opng, so can't comment on that. On my end, things are pretty much back to how they used to be.

I wasn't really in the last two days, mostly working out at other clients, but while most machines got some OPN1 and MCM WUs, none of my machine usually happily (more or less) crunching OPNG has gotten a single WU and loaded up on Einstein@home instead.
Though there seem to be some validator issue now instead (at least for ARP1 according to posts in that forum), so let's see what happens before the weekend and if there is any update on the situation from Krembil... confused

Plenty of WUs, plenty of GPU WUs and downloads not sticking.

Let's hope we're nearly there.

ARP1 has been like that for the last week or so, and it now appears to have carried over into other projects, as flagged up here by Grumpy Swede...

Whether it's a validator issue, a transitioner backlog or something else, it is to be hoped that it can be resolved fairly quickly, especially in the case of ARP1 with its multi-day backlog (as at the time of writing) -- if it gets mentioned in enough News threads, I'm sure they'll become aware of the issue (if they aren't already...)

Cheers - Al.

I didn't get that much ARP1 WUs recently, but I returned one (1) ARP1 WU on 8/30, which was validated right away. Only a handful of WUs returned on 8/31 and 9/1 now show to be in PVa jail...

Well, the stats issue has been mentioned more than enough the last 2 months and nothing has been done with that one either... tongue

Ralf cool
