Thank you! Great update. Thank you for all the time and effort the team put in to get WCG to this point.

Re: World Community Grid complete restart

Thank you for the detailed article linked to this. I wish you well and hope that this "official relaunch" is not premature given the problems seen only recently. I have my fingers crossed that encouraging much greater participation does not lead to unexpected overload somewhere but understand your desire to get back to business as usual.

I am running MCM, OPN1 and a single Africa Rainfall task on my laptop with Intel i5 CPU and an Intel GPU processor. My contribution to WCG goes back to 2019 on several computers. I am 88 years old in a RSA

Nice to hear from you here on the WCG forum Tullio. I saw on the SETI board that you've had a serious illness, and are now living in a RSA (Residenza Sanitaria Assistenziale).

I hope that you are better now, and it's good to hear that you are back with WCG.

The news about the WCG restart are greatly exaggerated... biggrin

Well, for what it's worth, I got a batch of about 20 or so OPNG WUs on one of my GPU capable hosts this morning.
No ARP1 for about a week now, though plenty of MCM1 and OPN1 on all machines. SCC and HST are still a mirage on the horizon though...

Re: World Community Grid complete restart

I shut down my "big" GPU cruncher, and it will not be turned on until there's a reliable flow of OPNG tasks.

My very weak Laptop with the GTX660M GPU, will run for about 6 hours/day only, and at the moment it does have 1 OPNG, 2 MCM1 , and 2 OPN1 onboard. However, I only allow it to crunch on 4 out of 8 threads, so when it has OPNG tasks, it will only crunch 3 CPU tasks, and 1 OPNG task.

Let's see what happens if and when WCG really restarts. So far WCG is not really back, despite the announcement.

Yes, I'm getting a few GPU tasks and, so far, (fingers crossed) things are running well.

I'm only set up for OPN & MCM.
