Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Hi Ho, Sgt.Joe!!

Just thought I would see how it's going in the great North.

The North is good. Spring has arrived and finally the rains with it. It has been cool and finally wet. Got 1/2 inch last night and 1.5 inches the night before. Badly needed here. Thankfully no storm damage. The NWS says we may get our first 80 (27C) this weekend. All of the lilacs are in full bloom.

Cheers

Just the opposite here ... spring is finishing and we've probably had the last rain until late October. My lilacs have finished but the glads are begining to bloom. smile

Crunch on Minnesota!

It is bug season. How bad the bugs are will depend a lot on the weather. Minnesota has long been famous for its mosquitos. They make like miserable for everyone. Most good mosquito repellents with deet work pretty well, but they do not smell that good. If you talk to any five random people about their solution to avoiding the little stinkers you are sure get at least 10 opinions on what works well. The area in central Minnesota is also woodtick country. I have only had about ten of them so far this year. At least their season only lasts until about mid July when it gets good and hot. The rest of the bug menagerie, black flies, chiggers, and various other biters are all bad news depending on where you live.

On that cheery note biggrin WELCOME ABOARD biggrin

Cheers

Ah Sgt.Joe, I had completely forgotten about chiggers. They may even worst than black flies as they tend to want to congregate where one’s legs come together on the body. laughing biggrin laughing biggrin We have some rather impressive ticks here too ... and problems with Lyme Disease.

Well, the puppy (DM@BC) will not produce enough points to alter your team standings but I wanted to show some support for the great job Minnesota Crunchers have done. applause

I’ll hang around a bit and do some fishing ... if the bloodsuckers don’t drain me or I get Poison Ivy. biggrin

Crunch on ... coffee

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Ahhhhhhhhhhh..............the fishing. Just the thing to take your mind off of the bug situation. Don't worry about about little puppies. If you keep feeding them they turn into large dogs. Crunch on. biggrin

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

St. Paul has the reputation for being large "small town" whereas Minneapolis has the reputation of being a small "big city." Enjoy your stay.
