Have to consider canada is socialized medicine. Not sure how that works with research. If they push there own agenda, I am done! The medicine is socialized, but I don't think that the research has anything to do with their socialized medicine. Since they are already running the MCM project, I presume any other project that originates out of the Krembil Institute will be run under similar circumstances. So far, it appears the terms of the research will pretty much remain the same as they are currently. Let's wait and see what kind of projects may be coming on aboard, which doesn't sound like it will be very soon anyway given that Krembil will be busy just getting the transition done without any problems. Cheers

With the new website basically doing away with detailed stats and the badges looking pretty worthless, plus the stop to GPU work units and the change of ownership, WCG is testing my patience. News flash, they could've just kept everything the same and people would be happy. Not sure why this push to always make changes. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Standing by.
Good day. |

You will find quite a bit of agreement by me. The site is not user friendly. They have moved the location of some of the links. It is too bright and too monochromatic. Like being in a room with only lit with fluorescent lights in cool/blue mode. In another post in the comments on the new site I likened the new badge design to hieroglyphics on an ancient Egyptian wall (no offense to the ancient Egyptians.) The history is available in a text(cvs) file, which I can manipulate to get my history, but I would rather have it staring me in the face I go to "My Contribution." I hope they take the constructive criticism of the new site into consideration and make some additional changes. I think they would have been better off making some of these changes in an incremental fashion rather than all at once. I consider the present site to be a half baked beta version. I will continue to crunch, but definitely do not care for the new site in its present form. Cheers

To be blunt, this new design [edited for obscenity]! Hopefully things get better but not holding my breath waiting. As was posted above, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Will hang on another month in hopes for improvements but starting to consider to just stop crunching.

To be blunt, this new design SUCKS! Hopefully things get better but not holding my breath waiting. As was posted above, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Will hang on another month in hopes for improvements but starting to consider to just stop crunching. I still don't care all that much for the new design, but I am finding easier to navigate as I get used to it. Still way too much white and blue. It would be nice if there was more color and if the forum link was at the top of the home page. I had a brief power outage this morning, just long enough to knock a couple of systems off the air and throw a bunch of work units in the rubbish bin. But I am back up and running now. Cheers

I have been busy these last few weeks. I spent a week substitute teaching for 8th grade algebra. Most of the students were pretty good. Just like any crowd however, there were some rascals in there. There was also a wide range of abilities in the classes. There were some very good students who had very little trouble, but (and this only my opinion) there were some students who had inadequate basic skills, not only in arithmetic, but also in reading and writing. For anyone who wants to say this is a result of the pandemic, I will differ with them. These are skills which should have been addressed in the primary grades 6 and 7 years ago. I don't have trouble teaching remedial skills, but at this level I shouldn't have to teach remedial skills. But you do what is necessary to help the students try to make up for lost time. I have a day scheduled with the other algebra teacher next week. It will be interesting to see how their classes are doing.
----------------------------------------I got my chicken shed cleaned out for the fall and moved about half of the new pullets in the old hens. The weather has been pretty good so they are laying fairly well for the moment. I will move the rest of the pullets probably tonight. Sometime this coming week i will be getting my car ready for winter, tune up, oil change, etc. One of these days I might buy an electric car, but the price is still a bit higher than I want to spend. The nice thing is their maintenance is lower. We'll see. Still on the lookout to upgrade my systems, but only if the price/performance is better than what I already have. Cheers
