Re: Team Mensa smile

Thanks for the bump and the advice OG, although I like curmudgeon better. People generally have to at least ask you what it means and then you have the chance to come back with some classically curmudgeonly response. After all, what's the point of calling yourself one if you can't act like it.

Anyway, I'm posting because I see that we have 3 new members.

WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME !!!!!

OG, are you one of our new proselytes? Who else has had the awesome sagacity to join Team Mensa?

Speak up new members - we want to hear from you.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST - we are only 10,000 points away from 5,000,000 - time to celebrate!!!!

Alas, the word new has not been associated with me for many, many moons. I am with another, newer team. We've been together since the UD days.

I merely roam around and bump teams that hold some interest for me.

hugs

Re: Team Mensa smile

Thanks OG - there is a special place in heaven for people like you - and the nice people who feed your parking meter when it is about to expire. These are the kinds of things they mean when they say 'random acts of kindness'. Of course helping refugees in Darfur or the impoverished here at home earns one a couple points too, but its just not in the same league.

Seriously though, thanks again.

Still waiting to hear from my team members though. I know they're probably the strong, silent type but I do hope to hear from them.

Almost missed this one. Thanks.

I haven't decided if I'm going to rejoin, but at least now I have my membership number in an email (on yahoo) so I know where to find it next time.

Right now I can't really plan even a day in advance. It's pretty ridiculous. But it's been like that for so many years I should be used to it.

The letter they sent me had a whole membership fee schedule - everything from one year to lifetime. And of course I can't decide which one I should get. Obviously not the lifetime though.

The first thing I need to do is see if I can shake this GERDS problem. That will probably take a couple of months - it's been a month already and things have improved but not remarkably.

It is something that I intend to consider when things improve - hopefully.

I should also mention that we are now up to 33 members. And since someone was kind enough to point out how I could see who else is on my team (don't ask, it's embarrassing), I can say 'hi' when I see them on a forum - once I start recognizing most of the userids anyway.

Re: Team Mensa smile

Mensa includes the top 2 percent and members do not reveal their IQs. There are other societies for higher IQs, but I prefer the broader range of Mensa. I must never forget that my intelligence is a gift from a power greater than myself.

I sometimes ask myself, "If I'm so smart, why am I not rich?" Well, rich is more than money.
