Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Good Morning Base Campers!
It is a pleasure to welcome
Base Camper
chwchan
and one more visiting Musketeer
Duke of Buckingham [TeaM]
- we are getting almost royal now batting eyelashes
to our Christmas Trek with Team USMC rose

Now, when the initial trembling and confusion of surprise has settled, I must say
it's a pleasure with you Musketeers joining our Christmas Trek.
A special Christmas gift to us Base Campers that we treasure.
hugs Need I say you will be welcome at any future Trek you may fancy?
A hat to go with the mittens and a huge purple bag to hold it all aquired tongue
Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these tourists from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.
New York, bring it on ... cool
Let's have an unforgettable Liza Minelli fireworks display again

New York, New York

LM, shouldn't that be a COVER to go with the mittens.

After all we're Camping at the Marines.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Yes, it ought to be a campaign cover, TLD,
even as they don't protect your ears a lot in a NY blizzard
which will now stay away,
in which case I could have chosen a campaign cover
in which case the blizzard would surely come ...
Let's just say: I'll be a Blizzard Scare as in Crow Scare in my arctic hat devilish

Good Morning Base Campers!
My morning beat showed peace and quiet everywhere in our camp.
No new tents had sprung up, none had been folded, either
- and the graphs at the USMC begin to take the shape of a
Campaign Cover tongue
If you want to submit a suggestion for the badge for our Christmas Trek #32,
please do so. You will meet serious competition from the ones we already have,
but none of you shy away from that, I know.
Our visiting Musketeers are welcome to try their hand as well.
Only restrictions: 64 pixel high and .jpg or .gif file format, please.
Tomorrow will be the shortest day of this year
- except for the Australian and New Zealand corner of our camp which prefer to be opposite
- but today the sun is out, and it really shows how low it hangs close to the horizon ...

We always celebrated winter solstice,
- the returning of the light -
so for the Christian missionaries it was easy to hijack that feast and turn it into Christmas .....
... the season of caring
Glædelig Jul - Merry Christmas

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Good Morning Base Campers!
Overnight we had no changes in the participation in our Christmas Trek
23 tents sit in impeccably neat rows at the Boot Camp inclusive of the ones
belonging to our visiting Musketeers with their snappy feathered Campaign Covers.

I hope we shall be a few more before the Trek is over
as to make a little elegant peak on the graph at Team USMC
in order to depict the correct shape of their Campaign Cover.
So, we look forward to welcoming a few good New Base Campers or visitors.

Christmas is near, and I find it apt to post a Christmas song - internationally known,
but in Danish which on YouTube came with this comment from a Danish-Canadian:

LOVE THIS!!! Mormor and Morfar used to sing this to my sister and I at Christmas.
Now they're both in Heaven. Silent Night in English just doesn't work.
It's like someone saying "THEY'RE GONE!" I cry my eyes out.
I can ONLY listen to this song in Danish, or a language close to it.
Thanks so much for posting this. I was looking for a Danish version.

Glade Jul, dejlige Jul

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Thank you, Musketeer Jose
- I had a problem with the link
- such small adversities will not stop me

please note the hat!
- so I'll repost here:
Noche de Paz
- it's beautiful smile
While we're at it I think we should take it in German as a greeting to the German Musketeers
remembering how it was sung from trench to trench ...
Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

No problem
- as they used to say in New York
- even as their facial expression
- and their entire body language
- gave the impression that it was a problem
To me it was fun to find that little period.....
So that's how right I am smile
Homenaje a los Vihuelistas Españoles del S. XVI
-thank you for opening our eyes - make that: ears - to new kinds of music, jose
