Re: Badges... Who's got badges

Its been almost 2 years since I started this thread. Its good to see crunchers are reaching their final goal in the last days of the project. I hope to reach sapphire in 5 days. My cache is loaded and I have already reset my profile for DDDT2 and HFCC. smile
I'll leave the remaining WUs to those who still need them.

Cheers coffee

Re: Badges... Who's got badges

I don't suppose there is a page somewhere that tells how many of each badge there is on NRW or the other sub-projects?

I'm hoping the work will hold out so I can get Sapphire... Will probably be very close!

Re: Badges... Who's got badges

I am waiting for two additional computers to arrive for six more cores. I have 180 days to complete for two years and I think the extra processing power should get me there with no problem. After I reach that for rice, I will be moving on to DDDT-2. Does anyone know what the five year badge is?

Who says that there'll be a 5 year badge laughing Yes, we know that there's some new badges in the pipeline, although as to what level they'll be, we can only guess... cool

Re: Badges... Who's got badges

No, we do not know, but the only two possible choices are 4 or 5. By bet is on 5 years because that gives the badge design a logical series of steps 5, 10, 25, 50, 100. The other (geek) choice is 4, because of the historical doubling of time 45, 90, 180 days then 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128 .... years. I think WCG is run by logical people. After all, how did they get from 14 days to 45 days? Very non-geek.

You don't really need (faster) processing power, just power--slower computers will get you just as much time as the fast ones. at least per core. Think I might fire up the old Duron 1100 just to see if I can eke out enough time to make it to Sapphire.
