Yep, the more pc's you have the more betas you get, but even mere mortals can get a beta badge. I got one from this round of HFCC betas. I only have one quad core crunching part-time usually and an atom powered fileserver also part-time usually.

It isn't easy, but it can be done.

Re: New Beta badges awarded

Even if my PV's all get validated it looks like I'll come up about 4 hours short tonight... but by the mid-day (UTC) update tomorrow...

should appear

<---- over there. cool
(2 edits for the spacing... Preview is not WYSIWYG)

The 14 days for bronze beta represents 1.85% of my current 2 years, 23 days of total crunching time. FWIW.
(3rd edit to add percentage)

Re: New Beta badges awarded

I finally got a bronze Beta, but it wasn't for CEP. I haven't seen any CEP betas for a very long time.

Re: New Beta badges awarded

Congratulations astrolab - gaining Gold in Beta is certainly something to shout about biggrin

Now, the question "they're all asking" (well, me, infact), is; are you going to push onto Ruby, Emerald and Sapphire, or are you going to give all those clamouring for any Beta WU's that are "out there", have a chance at getting them? wink

It's a valid question. If you take the 98 days and divide by 570 WU you get 4.1 hours per WU.

Let's guess there are 5,700 crunchers signed up for Beta and assume I had never signed up for any Beta.

The end result is that 1 out of 10 crunchers would have gotten a single Beta WU from my WU over the last 13 months and (if Valid) would have received 4.1 hours of credit.

Now my question: Does it matter?

I came up 4 hours short of getting my bronze last night... so THAT's why. wink

That I had to wait 1 more stats update cycle? Not at all. cool
