Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 33 smilesmile

The aroma, on pouring the 30 year old, gives an initial burst of sherry, the full profound depth and roundness of sweet fruit then becomes apparent followed by a tantalizing hint of Islay peat.
Sounds like a plan

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 33 smilesmile

I spent a couple of years working out of London. Since my heritage is Scottish, and I have always liked scotch, and my clan is from that area (far west but not on the island Islay), I had to go visiting. I fell in love with it. When I got back to the U.S. in 1986 it was actually as cheap as something like Dewars. But, the price has continued to escalate. I have a bottle that I usually only get a sip of on New Year’s Eve. I may just snitch a wee dram when Keith tells us we racked up a million. smile

Well, it's not official yet but given that we were only 33 results shy of it at the end of the day on Friday, I am sure we've passed it by now.

Well, my mid-day stats show 20 results. Anybody got the other 13?

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 33 smilesmile

Just looked and it looks like I have over 13 results so far today. So, technically, we have to be there. But I will wait till Keith makes it official to celebrate.

Think of it gang; we may very well saved some lives already by providing some insights and one of us may very well process the key work unit that finds a cure and saves hundreds or thousands of lives. Or makes rice feed twice as many people or cuts our energy consumption but significant percentage. Or finds a cure for AIDS or. or...

The next generation will not know any of us for our contributions here but will be better off for it. And that is reason enough.

I am taking this opportunity to thank all of you that contribute on behalf of the succeeding generations of my clan. applause

Now for the fun stuff. They say that Laphroaig is and acquired taste even among whiskey drinkers. I say that I must be different because I aquired that taste with my first smell and taste. It is perhaps the most strongly flavored of all scotches. Laphroaig (Gaelic word for "The beautiful hollow by the broad bay") is a delight to be savored in wee drams with good friends. Should any of you get a chance have a bit of this smoke in a bottle-("water of life") tonight in celebration or any other time that seems appropriate, I recommend that you take the opportunity.
