Re: New projects to come?

I also just concentrate on the projects most meaningful to me.
With whatever crunching power I have, my fervent wish is that our contributions,
big or small, will aid in the research to find cures...that is all!

Ok - we have put onto our list a change to put the user stats below their title (runtime/points/result count)

thank you i would love to see that right now i end up looking up the statistics alot when i get curious.

as for new projects (the original thread) i would love to see more and i am hopeing to see more

as for badges in my opinion they help show what you are intrested in supporting... myself i have only managed to get one sapphire and a few emeralds and right now i have one ruby working its way to emerald.

the other projects are mostly in the gold range

for me i believe every project deserves some of my computer time so i will give each project at least a bronze if i have the time to do it.. i might go silver or gold if i think the project is worht more (TO ME) and if i love the project i will work even further

myself i have 4 computer with a total of 5 processers running right now.. all are eithor mine or my wifes.

if there were not badges here i might be running a onslaught of difrent projects throught BOINC but with badges and with my desire to work for a cure i have been concentrating my processers to WCG right now.

i hope they do not change how badges are earned (being a set process right now) yes i would love to see new levels for the supper crunchers out there.

also as for the people who are on one machine with one processer.. thank you for your support and your opinion dose matter to us as a comunity of crunchers.

personaly I am happy if a person crunches 1 work unit.. happier still if they continue to crunch work.

I love to see new people and read intresting things they bring up.

I started crunching with Seti back on 8 Jan 2000. and have swaped from many projects .. right now i am here cause i like the feel of this project and the badges are something that also is a self goal for me to work on

..

oh the other thing i use badges for is when someone asks us to crunch in the name of .... who died of.... if they have crunched at least a few work units i am more than willing to donate my time to crunch for a few days in memoria

Re: New projects to come?

sekerob produced this, http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q210/Sekerob/WCGYearsPi1Project.png
It will give you an idea of how long each project is expected to run.

Presently it suggests the following:
Help Cure Muscular Distrophy Phase 2 End time June 2011
Human Proteome Folding Phase 2 End time June 2011
Fight Aids@home End time Dec 2011
Help Cure Cancer End time Dec 2011
Nutritious Rice for the World End time March 2011
Help Fight Childhood Cancer End time March 2011
Anything that says interim or 100% has completed, but might release a few more tasks now and again.

Thank you for the help. I went to Sekerob's chart and did see the line near the bottom which has the estimated time of completion for the phase.

Re: New projects to come?

Official Print it Yourself Certificates has my greater pref on this matter. Mailing by snail would be costly.

I don't think most home printers can deal with vellum, gold leaf, ribbons, weather generating microcosms or vials of protein samples that would be required for the various commemorations at the higher levels of contribution biggrin
