Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

In addition to what gb said, sometimes it's easier than others to get a lot of work.

Every time the release a new batch, there is a literal flood of computers attempting to snatch up as many results as they can as quickly as they can. This can make it a real challenge to get any at all. However, with a few of these batches, there have been so many results available that all of these computers reach their max queues and "normal" people start seeing results.

Eventually, the scientists expect to reach a point where there will be large periods of uninterrupted results. Until then, it's a matter of luck and playing the rules as best you can.

Please Seippel, give us an update, it has been quite a long break without WU already!

Thanks!

I think if anything had changed since his last update, he would tell us.

In that case then BSD, I think that when there's a next shower, you need to employ some "DDDT2 rain caching tricks" (i.e., just have DDDT2 selected, and no other project), to boost your total.

Me, I'm just waiting for 22 Hrs, 9 minutes and 23 seconds before I'm Emerald... Talk about learning how to be patient cool

I only need about 8 days for gold, been some time since I last got anything though. Find it quite amazing people have managed to get quite so much.

It all comes down to the number of cores (i.e., computers) you have, and "playing the game" (i.e., using the well documented system to catch DDDT2 WU's when they're available.

As to it being a long time since there were any WU's for this project - yes, far too long (especially when you're literally in touching distance of your next badge level - I only need just under 22 hrs to reach Emerald...).

Roll on the next shower biggrin

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

The original "It's raining Dengue" thread was only 23 pages... this one is about to flip to 30, I think.

Shouldn't there be a new one for the next batch?

no - I don't see that there's any real reason for starting a new thread, as everyone now knows where to come for a weather forcast...
