Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

The initial copy of all of the work units from this past rain have been sent out now (although there may be some resends). At the moment there is no rain on the immediate horizon.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

The WCGDT2 chart might reveal to some good wiggle operators what the biorhythm is of the workflow... looks to me [Not taking bets] between 8 and 11 days after last new work was sent for the next input to arrive.

See http://bit.ly/WCGDD2

This graph also shows that we just completed 3.5 million results. tired

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

I have followed this thread as it progressed. One thing about BOINC is that you cannot know too much about what impact the various settings have.

I have my buffer set at 2 days now and I am conscious of how that impacts the validation of WU. I find it interesting that I now have 18 20 pages of PV which has increased from 15 pages since I upped my buffer from 1 to 2 days. Logic should dictate the PV go down not up. Doesn't really matter to me though. cool
Might be down to getting less resends which would have validated faster, or just a coincidence of crunching different tasks with different deadlines.

Might be caused by the skunk getting caught in the tree too.

Skunk Anansie: Secretly ... enjoying the little pokes, for now, but the genes reply to astrolab's post on the seemingly illogical increase was closest ;)

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

I agree with what genes said.
Just another possible consideration, explained - Resends have a shorter return time, and DDDT2 has a shorter return time than other tasks, so when you start crunching other tasks (when DDDT2 dries up) and extend your cache (get less resends), your wingmen will on average return tasks later, so you will have more PV's. Not sure about your Mephitidae Carnivora friend.

Re: New thread for It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!...

My remaining DDDT2 WUs will be returned by tonight. Though, I have lots of WUs in PV.

This is disappointing! I have now contributed 23 years to DDDT2. It has almost caught up to my contributions on the other active projects which are all over 24 years of contribution. I wanted to get over 25 years in case there is a 25 year badge one day :)

Now if WCG only supported CUDA, I could really rock!
