Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

We have cracked the 3,000 years of computing time! Thanks to all the great CEP2 supporters. Our research wouldn't be possible without you!

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Last week, Prof. Yi Cui from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering Stanford University visited Harvard and gave two talks, one on ‘Nanomaterials Design for Energy Transformation and Storage’ and the other on ‘Energy and Environment Nanomaterials’. The CEP team was obviously very interested in learning about his work.

There is currently the ‘Life at the Frontiers of Energy Research Video Contest’ and you can vote for the People's Choice Award.

We should mention that the Aspuru-Guzik Group has a contribution running in the ‘Life at the Frontiers of Energy Research Video Contest’. It’s called ‘Excited about Excitons’ – feel free to vote for it biggrin

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

We had a big jump in “Likes” for our facebook research log. We are now north of 400 followers – roughly what Justin Bieber had after 12 sec of opening his account biggrin. But we appreciate every single one of them.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Prof. Jean-Luc Bredas visited the Boston area to give a talk titled ‘Electronic and Optical Processes in Organic Semiconductors: The Case of Organic Solar Cells’ as part of the shared Harvard/MIT/BU theoretical chemistry seminar series. He is one of the pioneers and big names in the theoretical work on organic photovoltaics and electronics in all its different facets.
We had very interesting conversations with him and very much enjoyed his stay.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

Mitsubishi Chemical announced that they produced a 9.2% carbon-based solar cell after they had already claimed an 8.5% record in in March. It still has to be certified by NREL, but it is a very exciting development. There is still a long way to go before OPVs will be viable for mainstream applications though, so there is still plenty of work to do for CEP2 biggrin.

Re: Research Log: Updates from the Harvard Team

We just wanted to follow-up on the release of our ‘Tips and Tricks’-sheet for CEP2 custom settings. How is your experience with these recommendations? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
