Re: Only 44 days left....

Jean-Philippe.... I thought the same about going after the gold badge, but I sat down, did some math and decided the I had a slim change of making it and took the challenge. Now I'm only 9 days away from the gold.
I don't know how many days you have right now for HCC, but assuming you have 14 days, you will need 31 days of crunching to make it. As of today, there is still 44 days left to HCC (which changes all the time, so there might be even more days left for this project). That means that you would have to dedicate aprox 17 hrs a day to this project to make it to the gold. Is that possible?

Keep on crunching...

Re: Only 52 left....

Hi, qb009761 and Martin:

Many thanks for your encouragement. I will continue with crunching HCC and see how far I can go. In about 30 minutes, I will see the results of the overnight work. I'm watching the clock with great anticipation.

Regards to you both.

John

One thing to remember on any project. Those are estimated times. Folks change projects when they reach their goals. Changes about every day. If your close, go for it!

Re: Only 52 left....

And don't forget that
- HCMD2 and C4CW are expected to resume in the coming days
- one new project is currently beta tested.

If these 3 projects start running in production HCC will forcibly slow down.

Re: Only 52 left....

With 10 cores running for 46 calendar days (plus around 10 days you can buffer at the end)

You can't buffer 10 days of work then the deadline is only 7 days. wink

With 10 cores and 46 days, the computers must be running atleast 7 hours/day to manage the 136-day target, as long as runs on 100% efficiency and not the 60% WCG-default.

Well spotted. rolling eyes Ok, 3 days less. However, I guess we have more than +-3 days inaccuracy in terms of end date prediction. And still no explanation what all those V, M etc. WUs are all about. wink

Martin

And remember that you're also stockpiling work in PV status. Work you complete today may not get credited until next week, but it should get credited. So even after your queue dries up, you still can score some runtime when those hit.
