Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

Speaking of EVGA, I got a news item from them about the EVGA X79 Motherboard Series. It says Intel X79 Express Chipset based and Designed for Intel Socket 2011 Processors. You can go to http://www.evga.com/articles/00655/ for more information.

Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

I have been trying to get to 100 years of HCC but it does not look like that is possible so I have switched over to the GFAM at least till I get 2 years (AKA "badge hunting"). I will be back to HCC if there is work left as my prejudice is Cancer related projects.

My real curiosity now is the implementation of a GPU based project here at the WCG. I have but the most cursory understanding of the process, coding and the efficacy of the various GPU processing equipment. I would consider it a favor if someone would point me in the right direction to remedy this ignorance.

Thanks smile

Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

Dave, It was pointed out that the planned GPU version of HCC will not be called HCC2; HCC2 is a concept for a different project. A GPU version of HCC would be more of an add-on to HCC. This in itself suggests the existing 42days could well be extended with new work. If not then it will move to GPU only.

PS. You could use your 'EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti' on other projects now, and see how you get on there. GL

Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

I'm seeing WUs with a peculiar name, like this one:

X9999999991501201110251404

All those 9's at the beginning of the name would mean something about the end of the project?

Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

it all matters how how much people concentrate on each task... as it stands i am guessing its going to be more than 43 days... but its closing in on the end...

but the theory goes if you are close to your next badge you should concentrate on this project cause its almost over

Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

I don't know how many days beyond six years I will be able to complete, but I know at this time I have 5 years 246 days which are valid and 170 WUs in PV status. I think I will continue on this course until the end is reached.
