Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

Is HCC still doing these C, V, M tasks that showed out of that famous blue?

TIA

Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

Don't know. Some have expressed the thought these are roman numerals for five, a hunderd and thousand times magnification. My interest is in if they keep coming without any X prefix tasks in any larger number, or have all but for repairs completely vanished. Personally, think they could be related to new crystal libraries too... the "no rush pace **" of HCC on GPU suggests there a good lot more coming. 2+1=3.1, the server work knreed posted about may be integral to enabling the GPU feeding *** and system flow controls with the latest Berkeley server versions.

** I fully agree not to do any of totally new beta testing in the December holiday month.
*** [very off topic to this thread, there are current ones on that already]

Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

I have returned to only HCC since it is close to done and like the high number of completed tasks a day. Plus K/day for my machines. Two still in shop so would be more. As this project seems to drag on, I feel badge hunters have had enough time to reach their goals as I strive for fifty years. I hope Nasher is correct and WCG is working on HCC2. Hopefully it will also be short WU's as I am into those. Though I would like to have high number of years of crunching for every project just not possible with my limitations. With so many projects ideally there would be a equal number of crunchers who favor each project such that they all have adequate work done to advance that project. Idealistic and probably not going to happen but I believe that those of use attracted to these types of giving would be willing to sacrifice our wants to help any project that is lacking attention! Hey we do this for free and actually PAY for the pleasure!!! My long term hope is that home computers do not become obsolete such that there is no WCG, but it will happen and someone will have to come up with some other way to give, earn badges( for use wantabe boy/girl scouts)!!!!!!

@Sekerob

Just wanted to let you know they are still releasing X type tasks that are not repairs. The highest one I see currently is X0950056020460200508221525

Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

OK, thanks. The different prefixes could mean anything until a tech or scientist alludes.

Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

A glance at Sekerob's chart shows that the best guesstimate is that HCC now has 57 days left. That's higher than when I last checked in on it, and I'm a bit disappointed. Lowered feeder priority notwithstanding, I'd like to complete another project off the grid.

I know there's a big push on the C4CW board to complete C4CW by Christmas. While I don't think we can complete any one project by that time (it's too close by now!), I wouldn't mind seeing a similar concerted push to finish HCC with a bang by, say, the end of January? For that very reason, I'm considering shifting entirely to HCC once I finish my sapphire for GFAM (about a week left to go on that).

Maybe a dual push for both HCC and HCMD2? Since they're both so close to finishing. biggrin Hey, knocking out two projects within a month of each other would be pretty sweet. I remember when that happened for CEP1 and IADS...but that seems like it was too long ago!

I should hit 5 years when I finish what I have in my Q
So I'm another one that's going to drop off of HCC,
only because I'm at 3 years of HCMD2, so you finish up HCC
& I'll work on HCMD2 lets see if we can make ground hogs day.

Re: Talk of Expected Completion date of HCC

I may make it to 8 years but not much beyond. It looks like RT will reach 100 years without too much trouble.
