You could be in for nothing but trouble here, a no win situation. If you get her the same as Nap suggests, you'll probably hear nothing but users issues and problems from the "war department". On the other hand, if you get her a so called basic model, there probably will be no user issues, BUT... there may be what I'll call "envy issues", like look what you have compared to me etc.etc. It all depends on how Snow White will handle it, and only you know how that will go. So go ahead and live dangerously, buy her a Jitterbug. |

----------------------------------------My wife has an identical phone to mine and she uses it more than I use mine. Games, Facebook, email, Words With Friends, etc... I don't have time or the desire to do any of that on a TELEPHONE. However, it keeps her occupied enough so that she does not bother me. So I recommend you get a phone with thousands of apps. My wife started with an iPhone 3 and now she has all 4 CPUs on her LG E970 smoking. if you are lucky the wife will pick up the technology quickly and she can be your IT support person. If not yours' at least her own.  Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some battle. Please join the team The survivors  |

----------------------------------------I am hoping for a GPU project. There is mention of another cancer project maybe 3rd quarter of this year. I have 2 GPUs and 29 CPUs up and running so I am ready for whatever they give us. Potentially there are 5-6 more CPUs/threads/cores that I can add. My wife's broken Gateway is a 4-core and I have a Pentium 4 single core CPU 2.4 GHz that can be upgraded to Hyperthread 2 threads at 3.06 GHz. I have the 3.06 chip. Also have a Gateway laptop Pentium 3 800 MHz that could be put back to work. It had a network problem and I didn't have the time or patience to fix it then but now I do. However, there are not enough AC outlets in my office to plug all of them in at once. I looked at BOINC for Android but don't think it will run WCG at this time--if it would I could add 4 more CPUs running at 1.2 GHz. Rcc - now I know why my lights keep dimming up here. You may need to get 400 amp service from the power company.

the beta announcement
----------------------------------------i am using the boinc app in the beta forum... no you can set it to run whenever but it drains the battery and it likes to use your wireless... else it takes forever to dl work units [Edit 1 times, last edit by nasher at Jul 18, 2013 6:15:10 AM] |
