Finally fixed the BSOD problem on the HP p6620f.
----------------------------------------It was a problem with Windows Update. I have never used the Recovery tools this much. Found some new tools. Along the way fixed a Local Area Connection Adapter driver. The BSOD gave a lot of bad information pointing to multiple drivers as the problem source. Used verifier.exe but it was no help. There was one Windows Update that would BSOD every time it was attempted to install. What a nightmare that was. ![]() ![]() Please join the team The survivors ![]() |

Did anyone notice that the order of the projects on the My Statistics page has changed?
----------------------------------------The power supply for the wife's new PC is unstable. In particular the CPU voltage is all over the place. Let's see how good Newegg is at RMA. I think There is a spare power supply around here somewhere, should be able to get by on it until the replacement arrives. ![]() ![]() Please join the team The survivors ![]() |

yea every time a project goes from active to finished it changes its order. Thanks nasher.I have been doing this for 7 years and did not notice that the change in order was when the project completes. Guess that makes me not very observant. ![]() ![]() Please join the team The survivors ![]() |

Did anyone notice that the order of the projects on the My Statistics page has changed?
Yep, happened again this morning. For no apparent reason i can see this time. About 6 mos ago i installed an SSD (240 Gbyte) in place of the WD hard drive. Then did a fresh install of Windoze 7, along with other pgms, and BOINC. [All my data are on a seperate HD]. Completely happy with the way the pc runs (even though its SATA II speed.) This week i installed a smaller (60 Gbyte) SSD for the BOINC Data directory, and am running CEP2 exclusively. The pc is completely quiet (except for the cooling fans). Another thumbs up for SSDs. Now if i could only find some SSFs (Solid State Fans). ![]() |

They make solid state fans but how about Ionic Wind?
----------------------------------------It sounds like a good way to eliminate fans. Cool Your PC or Laptop with Ionic Wind ![]() ![]() Please join the team The survivors ![]() |

"..... the required 3,000 volts necessary to power the ionic cooler."

How about the "NoFan CR-95C IcePipe Fanless CPU Cooler"? Don't ask me how it works cause I don't know. What else is new, right? It must be magic cooling.
Going to FLA for a few weeks on Wednesday so I'll be shut down until mid July sometime. Stay out of trouble. |
