Re: "The survivors"

Actual temperature was 4 F in NYC and 6 F in Atlanta.
That was fun.
D&*# global warming.
Sure miss the good old days when the weather conditions on earth were cyclical, a time when methane gas from cows was unheard of.

Re: "The survivors"

In March 1993 we had 12" of snow.
That was also fun.

What is not fun is when it is winter and you have to go to work and drive 52 miles each way.

And your 1957 MGA won't start in the morning because of the cold.
It has 2 batteries, but wait, they are 6 Volts and wired in series.
And the electric current runs the wrong direction [positive to negative].

Can't tell you how much I don't miss that!

Re: "The survivors"

....and you have to go to work...

Aha, i think i found the flaw in your logic:

When it's cold, and there's snow, the priority should be:
..fireplace
..warm things to drink
..a puppy to frolic with
..wallking in the woods

biggrin biggrin

Re: "The survivors"

There is something worse than ice and snow.

"HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK...UPDATED
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PEACHTREE CITY GA
455 PM EST FRI JAN 10 2014"

"...THE BEST POTENTIAL FOR STRONG
OR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS SATURDAY AFTERNOON. WITH STRONG UPPER LEVEL
WINDS...DAMAGING WIND GUSTS WOULD BE THE PRIMARY THREAT. HOWEVER...A
BRIEF ISOLATED TORNADO CANNOT BE RULED OUT."

Thanks NWS for that encouraging forecast; I hate it when tornadoes are not brief isolated.

Re: "The survivors"

Once again the inconsiderate Georgianians have elected to allow their foul weather to cross the river and inconvenience us innocent South Carolinianians.

We may have to go ahead and erect that barbed wire fence along the Chatooga and Tugaloo rivers to insure our weather remains pleasingly pleasant.

Grrr. devilish

Re: "The survivors"

Like politicians, when we have something we don't want we give it to someone else.
Preferably someone that can't vote us out of office.

The only solution possible is to relocate South Carolina to a location west of Georgia.
Unfortunately Alabama is already there and they get much worse weather from Mississippi.
Come to think of it, you are probably better off to stay where you are.

If it makes you feel better we apologize for sending such low quality weather your way.

Re: "The survivors"

nasher,
Sorry to hear you have been sick.

Eyeglasses break!
I had a Titanium frame break at the nose bridge after just bumping it.
Hard to wear glasses when the lenses are not connected.

You are averaging right at 19 days of run time, which is quite good.

Re: "The survivors"

Welcome back, nasher. It's too quiet here with just 2 posters. Sorry you were sick.
I've swallowed my pride and now get the flu shot every year. Doesn't help with colds, though.

It's beautiful today, sunny and 52F - followed tomorrow by possible snow flurries. Oi.
