If you get the cryptolocker attack, you could always pay for it with XRP's.

Re: "The survivors"

The definition of insanity has been updated to include:

1. Participation in cryptocurrency schemes and expecting to accumulate wealth.

2. Believing that money grows on trees or can be mined in cyberspace.

3. Thinking you can outsmart cryptocurrency founders at their own game.

4. Thinking that cryptocurrency schemes are never too late to get in.

5. Investing in anything that exists only in cyberspace.

6. Failure to understand the word fraud.

7. Letting a stranger hold your wallet, credit cards, and checkbook.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

I have updated group policies on my 5 PCs.

This menace can encrypt backups (on network drives) and delete shadow copies.

It also runs in safe mode and disables task manager.

Re: "The survivors"

My new years resolution is to end my rant about something I have no control over.

Whoa, is it ever cold outside!

Re: "The survivors"

yep...it's cold here too (22 F this morning).
But at least we have power and heat.
Thinking about the folks further north having to deal with so much worse.

Re: "The survivors"

There was some snow in North Georgia but the rest of us were spared.

The forecast for Monday shows a low of 11 F.

Can't say I miss below zero temperatures mixed with blizzard conditions.

I'm not sure people here know what a snow fence is but I have seen many in my day.

Re: "The survivors"

The forecast low has been adjusted down to single digit.
Depending on the source it ranges from 4 F to 7 F without wind chill.
Quite cold by NE Georgia standards.

Okay, so its colder where you are but consider this:
It is so snug in my home office with 3 PCs to keep me warm.
The temperature on the exhaust fan side of the i7 is 85 F.
Can't get to the others to measure but it has to be above ambient so they are virtual heat pumps.

The only thing that can screw up my happy little arrangement is an ice storm and power outage.
Think positive!

Re: "The survivors"

It is so cold that my FireFox browser froze.
Well kinda.
It would not display correctly, HTML looked like text.
Had to reset it because remove/reload did not fix it.

Re: "The survivors"

It was a pleasant 9 F (actual, not that wind chill crap) this morning.
The dog decided not to wander all over the place today, for some reason.
Out. In. Snack. Cozy up to the fire. blushing
