Even if i am from new jersey, by way of florida, to south carolina! Wait, you go to different places to vote? Here we get a place assigned (usually a camp fire or a river crossing). ![]() |

Wait, you go to different places to vote? Yes. A few years ago, they decided to change things up. They consolidated most of the polling places from several dozens to 22. Voters can now go to any 'Vote Center' in the city, show your state-issued photo ID, wait for an election worker to program your district/ward into the computer, let your ballot pop up, and vote. Among other rationale, this is supposed to make voting easier and less time-consuming, so one doesn't have to leave work and drive all the way across town, the all the way back to work. In my opinion, all it has done is make the lines longer, which defeats the whole 'voting will now take less time' goal. |

We have early voting in Georgia so I voted in October.
----------------------------------------I bought 2 new phones, LG G3 and got 2 LG G Pad 7.0 free. That is 16 new cores running WCG FAAH. Still have 2 LG E970s and run WCG on them too. ![]() ![]() Please join the team The survivors |

BOINC for Android suspends when the battery temperature hits 40C.
----------------------------------------For my old phone (LG Optimus G/E970) that is too hot--the battery is damaged after 2 years of WCG. I can buy a battery for under $20 but I wonder if I really want to take that phone apart. Come to think of it I have a camera that needs a new CCD sensor, I can make a day of it. ![]() ![]() Please join the team The survivors |

...wonder if I really want to take that phone apart.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4. Nice phone. It has a replaceable battery. Just unclip the backplate, and slide in the new battery. I updated the backplate to one that includes 'Qi' wireless charging. Just set it on the charger base, and magic happens. YouTube Debs, i just noticed you are the author of this thread. Thanks. I've found some pretty good tunes here. Congratulations to ESA for landing on the comet. Quite the accomplishment. (I also like those Philae cheese steak sandwiches.) ![]() |

(I also like those Philae cheese steak sandwiches.) Funny ![]() ![]() I still do not have a smart phone. Mine is an old Pantech Laser. My family wants me to upgrade, but I do not have a need for one. I can talk, text, and take pictures. 95% of the time, my phone is turned off. As a rule, I turn it on when I leave the house, and turn it off when I get home. So for me, paying a for a data plan that I won't use very often is a waste of money. I'll admit, there have been a few times when it would have been nice to have a "portable computer" on hand while I'm out and about. But those times have been far and few between. I'll stick with my outdated phone unless/until this one becomes obsolete, lost, or broken. |

My new phone has a replaceable battery.
----------------------------------------The old phone battery is puffed up like a marshmallow. Obviously they can be toasted. Wireless charging is beyond my comprehension. Tethered to a charger, that's me! The new phone and tablet pair so I can answer the phone on my tablet. Never thought I would use a tablet because I have 2 desktops, a laptop, and a phone. My wife has taken to the new phone and tablet enthusiastically. Martha is not a tech whiz but she can use these devices quite well. I see I have lost my 1st place in team results, need a GPU project to get it back. ![]() ![]() Please join the team The survivors |

I've been shopping my finger to the bone. I do love online shopping, especially with me having NHL (I am easily susceptible to every cootie the population has to offer).
FedEx and UPS are constantly driving my dog crazy. I'm still not done, though. <sigh> |
