I am sorry to say that dl1000v retired from the group on January 15th.
----------------------------------------With over 246 years of run time and nearly 403,000 results returned he will be remembered as a big fish in a little pond. I certainly appreciate the time he spent with us. Best of luck dl1000v wherever you go. ![]() ![]() Please join the team The survivors |

It looks like dl1000v has gone to the Base Camp team.
These folks were responsible for the great success of the Survivors when they trekked over here. (Comment from the Base Camp thread) rwillis USAFA_82@BC PecosRiverM Nap2614 KWSN-A Shrubbery Delatvee dl100v cswchan Lets hope he returns when their current trek ends. |

dl1000v,
----------------------------------------Since little mermaid left WCG I have not seen mention of base camp. Most of the retired members in this team are base campers. I'm glad to hear base camp is still doing treks. ![]() ![]() Please join the team The survivors |

Well, once again i tried to watch a superbowl, but fell asleep during the second half.
Who won? The halftime show was pretty good. Enjoyed the lasers. Enjoyed the fireworks. Didn't understand a word of the songs. Who's Katy Perry? Why was Lenny Kravitz there? I always like the Budweiser ads. Sigh... |

Was that the superbowl?
----------------------------------------Nobody won. Seattle lost. What was the deal with the illuminated rings? Guess they were souvenirs so nobody would tear the stadium up looking for memorabilia to take home. I think they should do this again next year because fireworks are always fun. ![]() ![]() Please join the team The survivors |

Sorry I've been away for a while. I caught what I call "the creeping crud" (bronchial pneumonia), have a sinus and eye infection, and I passed a kidney stone. All in all, for these past 6 weeks I've felt like crap. I'm on eye drops, nebulizer treatments, a lot of Mucinex and my fourth round of antibiotics.
That's the problem with my NHL... my immune system is shot to pieces. Every time I get sick, it takes me twice as long to recover. Like this time, with more than 1 thing wrong, it takes forever and a day to recover. If that wasn't enough, the first week of January I got vertigo, and the last week of January I got tinnitus (I hear crickets). The vertigo can be cured through exercises and adjustments. The tinnitus is FOREVER. About the only thing that can be done for tinnitus is to take anti-depressants... I'm guessing so one doesn't get so distraught or go crazy enough to kill oneself. I'm guess I doing okay with it, as I haven't felt the need to ask for the drugs. I am a Survivor, after all. <big grin> G-zus... I sound like a hypochondriac, don't I? <roll eyes> |

Wow, the last post here was 19 pages ago.
Haven't felt much levity for a while. My hiking buddy's wife died a week before Christmas. She had been undergoing cancer treatment for 7 years (!), and it finally got the best of her. We were friend for 50 years. Although i still support the research done here, i could be convinced that commercial cancer treatment is a scam: designed to extract maximum profits from the victims insurance, before the 'there's nothing more we can do' announcement. Sorry for the negative vibes. It's just how i feel. |
