Re: Limited workunits for Help Stop TB

The last *original* of batch 535 was received here at 4:58AM UTC on April 6... now 30 hours ago. Nothing said, but maybe the Beta testing was used temp limit limit the supply? The subject machine did get 1 Beta job which validated... always a positive sign.

Re: Limited workunits for Help Stop TB

Not seen a single new task in over 48 hours and the returns have dropped again to 7419 (7th). Let's hope the beta of v7.16 runs well so the feeder can be rebooted ;|

(9600 distribution at 13 full days, less 98168 validated makes ~27000 MIA. If half of those are sitting in PV, very optimistically, there's 13500 still loitering around in buffers... no rush, gentiles, science take time ];p)

@Techs, just for the statisticians, how many are actually in PV and IP at this time for HST1?

Re: Limited workunits for Help Stop TB

Thanks for astounding me, Keith. At 9600 a day (100 per 30 minutes * Quorum 2 * 48) that's a return time average of under 24 hours. Is there actually new work flowing, given not seeing any since now 54 hours?

Re: Limited workunits for Help Stop TB

Well in the end I got ALL BUT ONE WU through the system before the deadline hit (I aborted this one HST WU about two days ago when it was clear I couldn't get it started by the deadline timestamp).

As for the rest of them from the big pile I had last week - looking like I've gotten credit for around 21+ days worth of crunching, with six recently finished HST WUs still in PV mode.

So your small wingman came through guys ..... biggrin

I'll now go back to my HST1/FAHB rotation of WUs going forward now and see how many new HST1 WUs I get in the future - probably not much for a few months until they get things settled down on the data results and feel better about turning on the firehose for everyone.

Re: Limited workunits for Help Stop TB

Smells like this 100 per 30 minutes is depending on manual transport from shelf to conveyor belt... it's not a continuous uninterrupted trickle, hence throws out the whole idea of there being a fixed N each and every day, explaining there's just 8000 in PV.

On April 8th, at 09:42 UTC, 18 batches were created and then indexed by BOINC. Currently only 5 of those batches have been Loaded into boinc, this is where the 50 work units every 30 minutes comes into play. These 18 batches should take about 24 hours to distribute, which means you'll have about 12-18 hours to catch one of these new batches.

When a batch is completed, we send it back to the researchers and they then process the results and create new batches based on those results. Once we see a new batch is available for download from the researchers, then we grab that file and create the workunits to be indexed and loaded for BOINC.

Thanks,
-Uplinger
