within the past 15 minutes the error i was getting went from "server error: feeder not running" to "error reported by file upload server: server is out of disk space".

PLEASE, stop messing around until you see a message on here that gives the all clear... Ralf how generous (and kind to boot?) of you to offer completely unsolicited and unnecessary advice  i was simply reporting the error that wcg/boinc itself generated regarding transfers it attempts to make on its own in case the disk full error could be of use to admin or might be a sign of things moving forward. as long as we're sharing free advice, feel free to not  |

In this instance out of disc space probably means that the disc is not yet open for business rather than the disc being full.
Even if the deadlines had not been extended, the units would still have counted because they wouldn't be too late because that doesn't happen until enough units have been returned. As they will not be sending out new work or re-sends until they have processed all the completed units awaiting upload Extending the deadlines just means that it is not necessary to keep your machines running until just before the deadlines. It's been saying both for some time. Don't know if that's really WCG or just one of those weird quirks of BOINC... It doesn't mean anything except the system isn't ready yet...still...still.... Relax, take a deep breath, and go crunch work for another project in the meanwhile... Rosetta & Einstein have some nice screensavers... |

About 8.5hrs ago I had "fetching Scheduler list" followed by "Master file download succeeded"
About 4.5hrs ago all outstanding transfers uploaded with 100% success and no errors showing here. Instead of 6 tasks waiting to report I'm now on 93 waiting to report. Hopefully everything arrived ok, but I guess that has to be verified (would be a good idea). These sound like important stages toward a resolution. After all that's happened, i wouldn't rush it from here. |

They did say they would be re-starting one step at a time,
Step 1 was uploading. Step 2 would be reporting. I assume step 3 will be verification. Maybe step 4 will be work generation and then Step 5 downloading work. There may be other intermediate stages. In view of how major the problems have been, they will rightly be treading very cautiously. We now have progress. Mike |
