Kate, how did you do down in Iowa? Looked like some servere weather when I looked at the radar a bit ago. Hope all is well. We're all in the basement at the moment -- severe thunderstorm with 70 mph winds. Hope it doesn't get any worse. There were tornadoes in southwest IA not long ago, so this isn't so bad. I'm glad I have a netbook with good battery life so I can stay online (and monitor the weather) during storms! I guess MN is in for this later tonight or tomorrow. Stay safe, all! ![]() |

Stay safe for you and family. Looks like its moved out of most of Iowa. Looking at the radar, looks like we are in for a rocky night. Set up my scanner to alert for tornado warnings. Keep my crunchers on UPS's so I leave them on. Alarms go off when power goes out so kind of a secondary indicator for storms. Stinks when some drunk takes out a local power line and those alarms wake up the family. Stay safe everyone. Check in to let the team know everyone is alright.

Thanks for the info Brink. Didn't here much last night so guess the storms weren't to bad around here. Every one else ok?
----------------------------------------Looks like snow is forecasted from central Minnesota up to the Canadian border. What crazy weather. Kate, how close did the tornados get in your neck of the woods? From what I read, from Oklahoma up to Iowa had tornados. At least we got some much needed rain. Keep hearing the ground say thank you and asking for more. ![]()

Yes, the weather forecasters were right this time. We got about 1.25 in(3cm) of much needed rain yesterday and last night. No violent weather here thankfully. And we have snow flurries this morning 32F(0C) and much wind.
----------------------------------------Kate, hopefully your area was spared the violent weather. Just heard an update on the radio. The Iron Range has gotten pasted with snow, Chisholm is reporting 12 in (30cm) and other cities getting 8 to 10 inches. Winter was not quite done yet. Cheers.

Glad to hear that there wasn't such violent weather in MN yesterday after all. Minnesotans can deal with snow!
----------------------------------------Our part of Iowa (Iowa City/Coralville) didn't get anything worse than pouring rain, hail, and high wind. The tornadoes were well to the west-southwest of us. ![]() |

Crazy crazy weather. As Joe posted, snow up north, around 45 degrees here in st cloud area now. Cool week ahead. Don't think old man winter wants to go away. Who knows, maybe snow in July the way our weather is going. ![]()

Would be interesting to see a full year of temps and such during such claims, just to see if it matches our crazy weather this year.
