I don't think the server likes me, the wingman probably doesn't either crying
Cheers

I have only had this occur on one machine. It normally does HCC but occasionally gets other work when no HCC are available. FAAH is the only application which does this, none of the other random applications even the other autodock application HFCC does not show this kind of disparity. Perhaps when HCC ends I will let it run FAAH exclusively for a few days to see if it continues. Not that big of a deal as the WU are valid, but still a little strange.
Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

After extensive research last night, I took a step back and checked the obvious: WCG does not support Linux GPU crunching.

Funny. Thanks for the info though and happy crunching.

Sad but true! I have several machines that would be doing HCC GPU if it were available for Linux, but which are running POEM instead. Oh well, POEM is a great cause, too.

A Linux GPU beta was started today!

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Great news! Kind of makes you wonder why they are putting extra effort into running on multiple platforms...maybe the end is not so near?

I just moved up to 34 overall becasue of GPU processing. I have moved up 6 postions in th overall rankings in the last 30 days, 2 postions last night. I love GPU processing!

Unfortuantely, according to this chart which is usually pretty accurate, only 53 days left for HCC. I might be able to get to 31 overall before the GPU WUs run out, but I will not be able to hold my position without GPU WUs.

Even if the end is near for this project, they will learn something from the Linux port. Then again, the researchers may have more jobs waiting in the wings - who knows. The other thought that comes to mind is they may now have the option to go for greater precision now that the jobs process so quickly on GPU. Pure speculation on my part.

Even without GPU you should stay in the top 50 for quite sometime. For a single cruncher you pack a lot of power.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I'd be happy to get into the top 100...might happen if gpu holds out long enough. Staying there is another story.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I too wondered why there's a Linux beta test when there's so little HCC work left. Worst case, it's a practice so they'll be ready to implement the next WCG GPU-capable science on more platforms earlier on. That would be just fine!

Yes all of that CPU power. And what an electric bill! The good news is that it is starting to turn cold outside. We still have not turned the heat on, the computers are keeping the house warm. Although my last electric bill was over $600, my last gas bill was only $26.
