I wish they would give us some idea of what is really happening. Tell us if they are going to do a beta for this or just the project and when it will start I'm sure a Beta will preceed any Windows launch of CEP2 - after all, they need to ensure that it'd work. As to any launch date, I'm sure it'll be very soon - we just all need to be patient   |

I haven't seen any CEP2 beta tests for Windows, so I'm guessing things have been delayed from the original estimates. Is the Windows launch still planned for the original estimate of July 17th? Sorry that we forgot to give an update prior to the 17th of July. We are going to launch Windows and Mac soon but we don't have an exact date yet. And yes, each launch is preceded by a Beta test (and the Beta test is preceded by a developer test and an internal Alpha test). Here's why we had the delay... getting Q-Chem to work for CEP2 took more time than anticipated and cut into the time that we had allocated for the next project. So after the Linux launch for CEP2, we had to give some attention to the code for the next new project. I'm happy to report the grid-enablement of the code for the next new project is going quite well so we should be getting back to CEP2 Windows/Mac testing during the week of July 19. I don't know the exact date when we'll start the CEP2 Windows/Mac Beta tests but it should be in the next couple of weeks. And the next project.... Beta for that will also be starting in 2 to 3 weeks. Thanks for your patience. |

I just hope any new project runs in WINDOWS...

Sounds like things may get lively in two or three weeks time. Just leaves me enough time to reach one or two more milestones. Will be good to get to another base.

Thank you for the updates. I'm just getting curious what the 'next project' might be. (IADS2 maybe?) Just two small tips: WCG is usually less secretive for phase 2 launches than for "new new" projects. And IADS2 will come from the same scientists as DDDT2 (which is still taking much of their time). Now, make your own guesses and watch the Beta Announcements forum...  |
