BOINC running incredibly slow on my S7

Recently installed BOINC on my Galaxy S7 and was working great. 8 cores happily chugging along at a great speed (3-4 hours a task on Smash Childhood Cancer), and kept cool by having a fan underneath as it does tend to get a little warm. Until today, when I noticed the phone was stone cold, and tasks are taking way longer to complete. Tried all different ways to try and get it to speed up, but it's going turtle speed. Any help would be appreciated, if anything can be done at all.

I get that from time to time on my Nexus 6P. A reboot of the phone seems to help me, wouldn't hurt to try.

Tried that, and turning it off for over an hour, turn it back on and still painfully slow.

Not sure what you mean with 'turning it off'', but power cycle is needed in some cases to refresh the system.

Re: BOINC running incredibly slow on my S7

Does it still process 8 tasks concurrently? Try downloading cpu-z from the play store, and watch the cpus while they are running. If they drop down significantly while crunching, it could be a thermal issue and the processors are throttling to avoid damage. You can also try backing down to 4 tasks and see if that makes a difference.

Re: BOINC running incredibly slow on my S7

Still runs 8 tasks, and looking in results status I can see results are showing as (CPU Time/Elapsed Time) 6.25 / 25.42 so its going slower than it should be. CPU-Z does show it isn't running at 100% like it should - averages 50% give or take 10% fluctuations. Must add my tablet (Galaxy Tab S 8.1) runs perfectly fine.

Re: BOINC running incredibly slow on my S7

You're absolutely sure of your CPU setting is 100 of the time as the numbers suggest it's set to 25‰, run 1 second, pause 3.

Re: BOINC running incredibly slow on my S7

Seeing is believing, kindly go to preferences, debug, BOINC client log flags and tick task and CPU schedule debug, let it run, then post full log.
