Re: The Formula One Thread

Yes sad, but it's good to see the faithful test driver getting a chance at the real thing. I wish him luck.

Re: The Formula One Thread

just thoughts also Ivan the test reserve drivers were owed the drive

But it would have been nice to see the great Schumie on the track again have voiced my reservations about messing with the F1 championship competition

Its the love of the race's I would have liked to see some comparison
current young bloods up against the experienced elder man

Hey ho its not gonna happen sad

Re: The Formula One Thread

Good news the Renault ban overturned $50,000 fine instead
Alonso to race in Valencia
Local hero missing might have been bad news for the sport in Spain smile

Re: The Formula One Thread

Renault have announced that third driver Romain Grosjean will race for the team at this weekend’s European Grand Prix, and for the rest of the 2009 season. Grosjean will drive alongside Fernando Alonso and replaces Nelson Piquet, who revealed he had parted company with the squad earlier this month.

Re: The Formula One Thread

I just hope they've all remembered how to drive with a month off and no testing this year.

Re: The Formula One Thread

I dont think the driver will forget how to point a potent weapon

just wish the drivers would be driving what ever came along

all sorts of motor sport between the Gp races

Come on the year is 12 months long .
Long long ago
the GP race drivers actually drove some other race cars in other race series the public actually saw those heroes

Re: The Formula One Thread

I see the set up of the three qualies for next year have been announced with the most interesting bit being that quali three will now be straight comparative speed because (as there will be no refuelling in the race) everyone will run light.

Re: The Formula One Thread

the no refuelling option or edict is great
The less pit work interferes with the race the better
we don't need "slick pit crews" we need fast cars and drivers
"run what you brung" is a good way to go if not entirely grammatical
but correct grammar hasn't stopped me in the past devilish

drive on lads

Would like to ask that we dont just post direct quotes cut and past stuff from the media

. its our thoughts that count
links are okay
but we all have opinions that are interesting
